Day 30

This morning Kaedo and I headed out to get the "suit thing" sorted out for Grad. We have been wavering back and forth over the cost of a suit and that of a tux. We went to a different store this morning that we had yet to visit and were pleasantly surprised at the affordable price of renting a tux for the evening. A suit for a 14 year old (and he will be 14 on that day - yikes) seems like such a waste as he will have grown out of it by the time he returns from his holidays. However, the costs of tuxes we had seen were almost the same as the suit.

Last year when Sterling had his grad we were able to pick up a second hand suit and he wore his dad's shirt and tie. We were then able to re-list it with the same consignment store for re-sale once again. Over the last 2 months I have been searching for something for Kaedo but have not been successful. He is just too slight of build for the suits I found. Add to that he is WAY more picky than Sterling. Sterling would have worn shorts and a tuxedo t-shirt had he been given the option!

Back to today - we headed out and once we arrived at Moores we learned he could get a tux, with the color vest and tie and shirt he wanted for $106. He wanted yellow (as you can see from these pictures, so they will match his high-tops he plans on wearing). The clerk who served us was impressed that we were letting him wear runners. She said that they had a set of twins in yesterday and they wanted to dress differently. They got into a yelling match with their mom who refused to pay unless they were identical. I don't get that, but to each his own.

So now he is wearing a black tux, black shirt, yellow tie and vest and yellow high-tops. Their shoes were included so I had them ordered just to be on the safe side.

Love the high tops, Kaedo. Don't let anyone talk you out of wearing them if you still want to on that day. They look wonderful and so do you. You sure dress up nice.

E and A sometimes dress alike and it looks cute due to the age difference. I agree with you, however, about twins. They are always classed as a pair instead of an individual. Our friends have triplet granddaughters and they are never dressed alike. They all look different and are different sizes also.

Heading to Medicine Hat tomorrow to take Emma for a birthday brunch. Her party is from 2-5 and she won't feel like going out for supper after that. How can she be 8 already?

Love to all

WOW - Kaeden you look so grown up! Love the yellow - it looks great on you.

Got home late last night from the Relay For Life down at the southside park. Weather didn't look like it was going to cooperate but ended up being not too bad at all. Another very emotional evening as usual - it is Linda's 12th year. We got home around 12:00. Today is the Picnic In The Park put on by the Credit Union but weather doesn't look like it wants to cooperate again - hopefully later on it will improve. It's on 12 here right now at 9:00 a.m.

Hope everyone has a great day - BIG HUGS TO ALL!

I'd pay him to wear the high tops. Too cool. My girls love matchy-matchy (as we call it) but only because they aren't forced to do it. My kids have always picked their own clothes and often look ridiculous as a result but lots of my 'classy' friends who still lay out their 8 yr olds clothes tell me they envy that I let my kids do that. It really only embarrasses me when I look like hell myself. Ha ha. Back to the high tops - they will look so cool. I hope he does it again in grade 12. I'll even buy him the shoes.
