Short and Sweet

It was a long night last night, with me finally falling into a fitful sleep at 4:02am, and it seems I have been "Mom's Taxi Service" all day and much of the evening. In fact, I am waiting to get a call from Sterling in the next hour for a pick-up. On top of that, Craig is sick - which totally sucks. He is one of those great sick people who never complains, but is just so pitiful I would do anything to help him. Hence, me waiting for the 10pm call from Sterling to start shuttling him and his friends home. Usually that is Craig's domain.

So, as I said, short and sweet.

I will leave you with a quote I think is totally hilarious. PLEASE NOTE: This DOES NOT represent me! lol

I like to have a martini
Two at the very most
After three I'm under the table
After four I am under my host
                        Dorothy Parker

Cute quote Shannon - we know it doesn't represent you!! Instead of martini, I added a glass of wine and it also sounds hilarious because after one glass of wine, I could be the one under the table:) Thanks for the laugh! I needed it.

Last night was a bad night for me as well. After finding out about mom, I think I spent most of the night worrying about how far she went, how tired she must have been, wondered who found her and I should phone that person, etc., etc., etc. Finally around 3:15 a.m., I got up and took 1/2 gravol and it took quite awhile before I fell asleep and the alarm went off at 7:00 a.m. Called to check on mom at 9:15 a.m. and she was still in bed and they called at 9:40 to say she was sitting at her table for breakfast and didn't remember a thing about last night. Then when I got home today, I got a call close to 5:00 saying that mom was very, very upset and wanting to get out of there. The nurse wondered if I could talk to her to try and calm her down. NOT - I felt like I was a bad girl being scolded. She was not happy and after talking for 15 minutes, I didn't think I helped at all and she dropped the phone. The nurse came on and apologized for calling but I told her not to worry. We were going out for supper and I thought I'd check to see how mom was before heading out. I called around 6:30 and the same nurse answered and said that even though I thought that I didn't help, something must have got through to mom because she had gone and sat at her table and was eating supper. I'll call again tonight to see how the rest of the evening went. It's hard seeing her like this because she's been quite good for quite sometime.

Hope you didn't have to stay up too late Shannon and also hope you are feeling better Craig and if not - NO FOOTBALL!
Not much planned for the weekend and weather doesn't sound great so maybe I'll catch up on some much needed sleep. Have a great weekend - BIG HUGS TO ALL!

I love the quote also. Like you, Shirley, I put wine instead of a martini. Unfortunately, it takes a lot more than one glass of wine to put me under the table...hence, it's getting rather expensive.

Sorry about your mom Shirley. It is very difficult when they sound off about wanting to "get out of this place" as my mom used to say. Your mom really is in the best possible place for her and for the family. We just have to adjust our mind to that fact and not feel any guilt pressure. Life is far too short, especially our own, so we have to do what is right for ourselves also. Hope things calm down for you and your mom settles and becomes happier.

Hope Craig enjoyed his football. One is never too sick to do the things one really enjoys. He's proof. Good goin' Craig.

Beautiful day here again today after the huge wind storm we had last night. The wind blew the rain away but we had to bring our slide in until it died down. The motor home was really rockin' and rollin'. Went for my walk today and what would have taken and hour took 75 minutes. My hips and knees were so sore when I got home that I decided new runners were required. Couldn't believe the prices, could have been a down payment on a car.

Enjoy the weekend everyone.

Love to all
