EQAO

Hi All -
Happy Thursday!
So, yesterday Sterling brought home his EQAO (provincial testing) marks and he did AWESOME!! We were so thrilled. With all the upheaval last year with his idiot teacher and no practice we weren't sure how he would do. Well, he kicked it. His math mark was a little down, but it is his poorest subject, so we were happy. He was thrilled.
I'm so happy we don't have to worry about his current teacher getting pregnant - unless there has been a huge breakthrough in technology that I don't know about.

Kaed has TKD tonight. 3 nights in a row. It is the most convenient for us and the backyardigans and it is my turn to drive. Sterling is thrilled! He loves getting to go to B'ville and "hang out" with mom. I better take advantage as who knows how long it will last!

Had a great time as usual last night. My friend is so funny. She talks non stop so I get a chance to listen and don't have to think of anything to say. Got home at 10:30.
Working today - although you wouldn't know it since I am doing this.

Fact of the Day
Did you know...
...that the plastic things on the ends of shoelaces are called AGLETS?

Ok - that's all!
s

OH YA - the new look for the blog is for mom and dad and their trip to the Maritimes. Hope you like it. Actually - if you don't, too bad.

CONGRATS STERLING - WAY TO GO!!! Hope you have a great year!

Nice that you have time with Sterling Shannon and yes enjoy it to the fullest because all too soon - it's done.

Didn't know that about shoelaces - interesting fact!

Went to my line dancing this morning but didn't walk. It's dull, windy and misty rain - YUK! Went for coffee, came home and warmed up some homemade soup and am trying to get ambitious and get something done but not feeling like it yet. We're planning on going out for supper with Larry and Faye tonight. Their son, Kevin who is 40 this year, is getting married in Vancouver on the 27th of this month. Larry & Faye will be heading out on the 23rd and spending sometime out west so we decided we'd better get together before they leave.

Stan and Robert are going over to visit their mom around 2:30 today. She's doing not too bad but her mind is getting poorer all the time. Last time Stan and Robert went, she wouldn't believe that they were her sons - they were her brothers! Hope today is not too bad for their visit - it's hard not to come home depressed after being there.

Hope everyone is having a good day today!

Sterling, you rock!! There wasn't a doubt in our minds that you would do well. We're very happy for you. Will this mean that we don't have to help with math homework? Darn.

Visited Old Quebec today as well as the Chateau Frontenac. How awesome is awesome? The little hotels, restaurants with 10.00$ soup, 92.00$ Chateaubriand for two and 24.00$ Crepe Suzette. I made turkey sandwiches, thank god. We did go for cafe au lait however, it's the best you've ever tasted. It was a really great day. We are going to stay on here for another day or two, we were only booked in until tomorrow but I think they have the room to accommodate us. It is a super fantastic city. It's a good thing they have used Old Quebec to bring in the money because they have no high rises to speak of, no out of province businesses that we could see, but a lot of Italian bricklayers. What does that mean??? It is the 400th anniversary next year and they are working like mad to be all new and improved by then. There isn't a building of any worth that doesn't have scaffolding and windbreak up against it. The Chateau is one big green screen. The Citadel has more bricklayers that Carters have liver pills. It's going to be great next year, I wonder how much this is costing us because there are a lot of Canadian flags flying so you know that it's not Quebecois money being used for these improvements. It is very wonderful here though, all underlying jabs aside. It is definitely more European than anything else in the country, we just love it. Yes, I definitely could move back to Quebec. I could probably move into the last city I was in, regardless of where it was as long as it had over 500,000 people. Has to be genetic.

Hope everyone is well, looking so forward to seeing everyone. I know GG is really looking forward to seeing Denis.

Love to all
