week 51

I know I say it every week, but man these kids are growing! Week 51. Only one more week and we will be retiring this gnome. I love him so. It will be a sad day. ha. Sterling almost refused to take the picture this week because he was pissed off at me. Finally I got him to have his photo taken and all was well in my world. You can't tell from here, but Kaedo has been sick today. He stayed home from school with a runny nose, fever, chills and sore throat. Poor kid.

The weather is cool here today and the rain is on and off. I must say, I love it. Long sleeves and a scarf. My favorite attire. The boys are still wearing shorts but it won't be long before the leaves start changing and the jeans come out full time. I'm looking forward to our family photo in all the Fall beauty, next month. Hopefully it won't be raining like last year!

Hope you feel the hug across the miles Kaeden as well as the hug from mom. Hope you're feeling better tomorrow.

Our weather turned cooler today as well and if we didn't have the oven on for supper, we may have turned the furnace up!! We've already had it turned on once this fall so hope not too much more.

Had my massage after chatting with you Shannon and I can't stop yawning. It always seems to do that to me. I got home around 3:20 or so, crawled in the tub to relax and got a call from the Elections office that they had two books ready for me to start typing. I went and picked them up around 4:00 and started typing right away and got both books finished in a couple of hours. I returned them to the office tonight around 7:30 and they will call when more are ready.

Plans are to go to visit mom tomorrow - hope she settles in to her new home soon. It's very hard hearing her wanting to come back to S.C. all the time. We'll see how the day goes.

Stan will be sitting by the phone tomorrow from 2:00 - 2:30 making his call to find out the time of his surgery on Thursday. Hope he gets through right away and doesn't have to keep calling the whole time. We're thinking we might have to get at picking all our apples tomorrow after my doctor's appt (to find out results from my bone density) in the afternoon. Stan won't be doing no crawling up and down the ladder after Thursday so we thought we'd get at it tomorrow. Hope the weather cooperates.

Heading downstairs to relax for abit - hope I don't keep falling asleep till it's bed time but right now that's how I feel. It's way too early to hit the sack now so we'll see how long I last.

Love you lots - BIG HUGS TO ALL!

I can't believe that Sterling was PO'd with you Shannon. He was so up when we talked with him. Hope you're feeling better Kaeden. You sounded great on the phone, hard to believe you didn't feel 100%.

We really thought of both of you boys when we were golfing yesterday. It was an executive course so there were 5 par 4s, the rest were par 3s. You guys would do just fine here. Mountain courses really are different than any others, you just can't judge the slope. Hope you liked the photo of the peacock at Minter Gardens.

Today we went to Cultis Lake and checked out a "lunch and golf" ad that they had advertised. We'll be doing that next week. A good friend of ours was raised there and it is a beautiful place. After we had checked out all the roads in town we went for lunch and then checked out the Blue Heron Bird Sanctuary. What a great facility. We did see a heron, beaver dams, and various waterfowl, however, the Mallards in downtown Chilliwack gave us much more entertainment as they were having a dual over the females.

Loved the video Craig. You did an awesome job. We went to the library in Chilliwack so that we could view it. Looking forward to viewing it again in Lethbridge where they have more up to date equipment.

Had a fire tonight and roasted the potatoes the way we did in the old days. They were disgusting!! Last time I'll waste potatoes that way.

Hope to get the new toilet installed tomorrow but if the weather is good (it's supposed to rain)it won't happen. So much great stuff to do here.

Love to all

Sorry to see you were sick Kaedo. Get better soon. Nice shirt Sterling!!!!! Good luck guys with soccer tryouts. Our soccer teams are doing well and after a 0-17 string for our football team the last several years they are off to a 3-0 start. Fun times for sport at our school. Getting cool here, but are attempting to enjoy our last few nice weekends. Take care
