8 years ago today...

... we moved to Ontario. Craig had already been here for 6 weeks, but today is the day the three of us arrived in Ontario with everything we could stuff into our suitcases. Mom, dad and Jessica came to the airport to see us off and there were many tears. Once we got into the air and knew this was to be our new life, we were anxious to arrive and finally be a family of four again. We lived in a condo right downtown on Front Street, overlooking the Rogers Centre. It was exciting and scary and amazing and overwhelming. Craig had rented a van to pick us up and we were so thrilled to see him. We got loaded up in the van and immediately drove out to our "new home" (which we wouldn't be taking possession of for another month), so we could show the boys. It was dark, and a little scary without the GPS but we showed them our house, and their school, and drove around showing them our new home. We decided we should get something to eat and headed up to the only area we knew that had restaurants. In our haste to get there we almost drove into a ditch. It was SOOOO close. Scared the hell out of us. We got up to the restaurant and because it was Saturday night, the waits were about an hour. With two little boys to feed, that was not an option. So we slowly headed back to T.O. and stopped at Denny's for 'smiley face pancakes'.

So, eight years have gone by and we are still here and we love our life in Ontario. The weather is great, the school is awesome, Craig loves his job and I'm still as crazy as I was when we moved here. The boys have a nice life here as do we and with the semi-regular visits from all our favorite people, it makes living on the other side of the country a little easier.

So, thank you to all of you who encouraged us, although we know you were seriously pissed - you rock.

Here's to 8 more great years!

It is very hard to believe that it has already been 8 years today. You mentioned that your mom, dad and Jessica were there to see you off and I had to check pictures to see if Stan & I came up as well and we were there and yes many, many tears were shed that day. We may not have been happy to have you move so far away but you have all adjusted so well and your home has been a wonderful place to come for a "holiday" visit! We also wish you another 8 more great years and believe me, they go by faster and faster each year.

Just getting ready to head to Line Dancing and to do some last minute typing for the Election this morning. It looks like another gorgeous day with the beautiful blue sky and sun shining.

Have a toast together for your 8 wondeerful years and to many, many more! Love you guys lots.

BIG HUGS TO ALL!

Yeah, couldn't take our eyes off that condo when we looked at it from the Tower. How awesome to live in a place like that and right down town. That is the ultimate home.

I remember how devastated we all were when you flew off to your new lives. The years haven't made it any easier but the fact that you love it there is a great consolation. I know how our parents felt now, when we left Montreal and we've never had any regrets about that. Trouble is, you can't get rid of us. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Finally caught up with the postings to date. Look forward to seeing the new gnome. The hats are wonderful Shannon, hope you get a good business going on them. The weather here in Kelowna today is lovely and we have friends coming tomorrow for a late lunch/early supper. The park were in is fabulous, with its own golf course. Yesterday's drive here was wonderful although it rained all the way. The mountains and lakes and the wonderful roads that B.C. has spent a fortune on made the trip super. Super, Natural British Columbia....whoever thought that up was right on. Awesome province but mega expensive.

Love to all
