Week 50

Now I officially have an 8th grader and 7th grader. Sterling looks like he had just gotten out of bed and I think that was the case. Working now on the year three header for the blog and counting down to the unveiling of the new guy. The boys said they were up for another year, so we're going for it.

Boys are both still loving the new school year and format and Sterling even had homework tonight. It's going to take the week to get into the routines but I think so far we are doing ok. 2 more days this week, which of course means only 248 more days of making lunches! Yuck!
Oh well, such is life.

On last thing - a very happy congratulations to Annette (our cousin) who is expecting her first babe after years of trying. We are thrilled for you and Jeremy. Congrats!

Hope you got your homework done Sterling - doesn't take long to get back into the swing of things does it. You make such yummy lunches Shannon - keep up the good work!

Just got home awhile ago from being gone all day. I went to Gravelbourgh with 5 other ladies and left the house around 9:00 a.m. We toured the museum and the huge Catholic church - it is so beautiful. We had lunch in a restaurant called Paris Cafe and sat outside to enjoy the gorgeous day. Just got back into town and friends called to see if we would like to meet them for supper at A & W which we did for about an hour and then I went to a training session for typing the upcoming election. Stan dropped me off and one of the girls I'll be working with drove me home. I'm getting ready to relax for abit. Love you lots - hope you had a wonderful day! BIG HUGS TO ALL!

Yes, you do look like you just got out of bed Sterling. Kaeden, you always look like you're ready for the day ahead.

So glad you like the new gnome. The boys assured us that he was the one you wanted. We weren't too sure as he seems smaller than the others.

Glad school is still good on day three. Emma is counting the weekend until she's back at school. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?

What a glorious time we've had the last couple of days. Highway 20 west from Omak to Burlington was more than fantastic, although a little daunting, as the slides have been huge and the debris is just waiting for the next rain to come tumbling down. It took a while to pick a lunch spot that didn't feel too threatening. The weather is perfect and the border crossing, both ways, has been awesome. We got to take things we weren't allowed and got to bring back more than our allotment. The border guards are getting more generous with us old folks. We are now in Rosedale, BC until around the 26th of the month unless an other adventure knocks on our door. There is a golf course within walking distance and Vancouver, one of the most beautiful places, beckons us and our bikes. Many of Denis's aunts, uncles and cousins live close by so we'll be very busy once we call to let them know we are here. Some of his aunts and uncles aren't much older than him...and true Lavignes...party hamsters.

So glad we decided to take this summer break, it's just been the best and only half over. The weather report shows only sunny until Wednesday. Unusually hot and dry for this place.

Love to all
