Sheer Devastation

Thinking tonight of all the families in Connec.ticut who lost their children, their mothers, their fathers, their siblings, grandchildren. I have shed many tears this afternoon thinking about this. How do these things happen? When I think of these 20 children, 5-10 years old. Innocent in every way. Really, it may sound melodramatic but what the hell is this world coming to? All these families, living in one of the richest communities in the country, all believing they are safe from these horrifying incidences. Their lives are ruined. Ruined. And you know what? A little bit has been taken from the lives of my children. Because I will think twice before I let them do things I am unsure of, I will be that little bit more protective. Why?  Believe me, I am not being melodramatic, my life would not only be ruined, it would be over.

Devastation, something many families are going through now and will for the rest of their lives. It's horrific how one person can change the lives of so many. His mom was a teacher, his dad an accountant so we can't say he was from a deprived background. My question is, why did his mom need five guns, legally registered to her. Really!! The gun laws down here are so ridiculous that we really can't believe it. You can buy a gun at the flea market, they are advertised for sale in the classified. The argument is guns don't kill people, people kill people. I would love to see how he could have caused all this mess without guns. Everyone owns one as they have the right to bear arms, it's in the Constitution.

Last night, here in Vegas, a guy shot and killed his girlfriend and then shot himself.....in the lobby of a casino. They didn't even close, the police just put up tape around the area it happened and life went on as usual. It's pretty sick.

I don't know how a parent gets through the death of a child but my mom did and my mom-in-law did. It changed their lives forever but they go forward for the rest of their family.

Hopefully, these families will be allowed to grieve in private and not be harrassed by the photographers and the press.

Love to all
