The Bata Shoe Museum

On Tuesday, mom and dad invited me to the Bata Shoe Museum. I was so happy to tag along. It was very cool. Four floors of shoes, dating all the way back to 300BC. When you walk in, you go down to the basement to start. at the bottom of the stairs, there are a whole bunch of different kinds of shoes you can try on and we all did - except Baba. I thought mom's choice would be a good one for her travels. They would definitely get a lot of people to talk to her. Or Not!

One of the exhibitions was Shoes in Art. This pair of boots are actually ceramic and not wearable. They were probably the coolest thing I saw there. They look just like steel toed boots. I had to read the information twice to be sure I had read it correctly. There were a lot of beautiful shoes on display but as no flash photography was permitted, my photos were much to dark to post here.

When we finished at the museum, we walked down in the pouring rain to Subway and split some subs. Amma decided hers was so good she wanted to share with her glasses!

Here are some great photos of us outside the museum. A nice gentleman took the photo of the 5 of us - and didn't even run away with our camera!!!
It was a very nice way to spend the day. Sterling thought the museum was boring but the rest of us enjoyed it. Thanks mom and dad for a great afternoon.

We followed up our day at the museum with a delicious homemade rib dinner. I think Kaedo would have licked the pan clean, if given the option. Which he was not! I will definitely be getting the cooking instructions from mom so I can make them, as they are Kaedo's favorite food.

More exciting things on the agenda for the week - Cedar Park, CN Tower, Stock Car racing, the horse races and lots of other cool things to do.
Happy Thursday!

OMG! Can you say "drowned rats". It was a lot of fun though.

Yesterday, Thursday, we golfed 9 at a great Par 3 in an apple orchard, then went into Bowmanville for lunch at a wings truck, then back for our second 9 The boys are doing so well at golf and enjoy it so much. We also went to the bike shop so that Sterling could put some more money on his bike. He's so excited and he can see that it is within reach now. We got home in time to change to go out for dinner with Peter and Roseline. Had a wonderful meal at Avanti, best pasta we've eaten anywhere, even in Italy.

Can't believe we're on the down side of our visit, it has flown by soooo fast. We're still trying to get in all the things we had planned but the weather kind of screwed us up for a couple of days. Haven't been to Center Island yet as it was closed due to weather the day we planned to go, as was the movie theatre as it was flooded.

CN Tower and St. Lawrence market today. Love going into the city, just nothing quite like it especially after living in a small center for the last 35 years. Definitely could live in a major city, right down town. The only thing missing is the money to do it, lol.

Happy weekend!

Love to all
