This could be the last...

I took Kaeden to the annual Scotiabank Kid's Holiday Celebration (politically correct 'cause Heaven forbid we should celebrate Christmas) for the last time. They only get invited until they turn 8 so Kado and I trekked down to the exhibition grounds to a big trade show venue(couldn't get Roger's Centre since the Argos were busy getting beat). Wasn't quite as intimate as the Roger's Centre and everything was pretty spread out, but having said that, Kaeden had a great time and enjoyed the lice pits and got his present. He willingly sat on Santa's lap though this year he said to me, 'the little kids are so excited to see Santa because they don't know he isn't the real one', so I said, 'How do you know?', and he replied, 'Because the real Santa doesn't let anyone see him, these are just guys dressed up as Santa'. Whaddaya gonna say to that? Even still, I got a good pic of Kaeden (Santa looks less than enthused) and he even told Santa what he wanted, good deal. So here it is, what could be the last Santa picture we get since the kids refuse to sit on the mall Santa's lap.

p.s. - Shannon gets a reprieve from posting tomorrow since this is the second post today.

Lookin' good, Kaedo. It's terrible when 9 is too old to go to Celebrations where Santa's in attendance. Not to worry too much Craig, they say lice don't live too long in those pits, just the underarm ones. Glad you got such great pics. It's kind of sad when this part of childhood reaches maturity.

It's very weird here with all the Christmas decorations and it's 28C. Hard to get into the Holiday Celebration spirit.

Galveston is incredible, loads to do. Going to Johnson Space Centre (NASA) tomorrow, wish the boys were with us, they'd love it. We've been invited to Thanksgiving dinner here at the resort at 1 pm on Thursday. Greyhound races (dogs not buses) on Thursday night, I love them. The biggest shopping day of the year is Friday and we'll be there, have that day put aside for stocking stuffer purchases. We'll be back in Houston on Monday and will probably leave for the cold weather on Wednesday or Thursday of next week. Got our feet wet in the Gulf of Mexico today but that is supposed to change tomorrow. Jessica always says we bring the bad weather with us and she's right again. It rained so hard on Saturday night that we had a visible puddle on the floor of the car, it came in through the hood, no windows or sunroof were open. With 240,000kms on it, is it still under warranty??? Doesn't smell too good in there right now.

Stan and Shirley, we'll call the day before we plan to be going through SC, maybe we can get together. We're just not sure when it will be just yet, depends on how things go down here. We'd love to see you if you're not busy.

Love to all
