You should sideline as a party planner. You can plan the party and I'll decorate it. We could have a cool name. None are immediately popping into my head but I'm sure if I write for long enough something will surface. Hmmm... I know 'Pedantic Party Planners'. For those who don't know the definition of 'pedantic' it means 'overly concerned with minute details or formalisms'. Sounds pretty high class to me. Otherwise we could go for the low-rent 'Posh Parties for Pennies'. Give it some thought.

Glad your survivor plans are going well. I love both names, where do you get it all from?

Speaking of survivors, I feel like one. We have arrived in Memphis. Nothing more challenging than reading a map on a six lane highway with on and off ramps every two feet. We are in an RV park, a two minute walk from Graceland and I didn't even have to make any U turns. I should always read the map under pressure.

I should have remembered that Graceland was built over 30 years ago. What was once rolling pasture and mature trees is now a ghetto. Graceland itself looks awesome, tomorrow we will see. We are surrounded by pawn shops, gas bars and every other less than upscale store you could ever want to shop in. I asked the manager for directions to a liquor store and a grocery store. She said that the liquor store was in the mall next to us but I didn't want to go to Piggly Wiggly for food. She told me to go to Schnucks (Schmuck with an N), I thought she said Chinook, what with the accent and all. I had to go to Piggly Wiggly just because she said not to, I now know how a visible minority feels when they are being stared at because no one my color has graced their doors for a long time. We never feel uncomfortable or nervous and didn't today, although some people from Quebec are leaving tomorrow and they just got here. I was appalled at the quality of the produce and said so. It was so highly priced and such poor quality. It's no wonder the less than affluent can't get ahead when they're being gouged by the very people who should be helping them. There are armed guards at every door in the stores, security vans patrolling the parking lot, and a neat argument that brought the police to the parking lot right near my car. I love the excitement. The guns were still holstered so I got in the car and drove away.

There are definitely as many eighteen wheelers as there are cars on the Freeway. Most are pretty professional but I had a bit of a run in with one today. He couldn't pass as the left lane was bumper to bumper with trucks and he tried to push me along, but I wasn't going any faster than I was going. When he finally got out to pass he kept his right wheels in my lane but when I cozied up to him instead of going into the emergency lane he got the message....never fool around with grey haired old ladies. I feel sorry for dad as they really push the motorhomes along. The truck traffic is so mind boggling that you can't believe it unless you experience it. At night, they play tag with each other, never touching but definitely scary. It is a culture all to itself.

We look forward to our Memphis visit and plan to hit New Orleans before we go to Texas. Since the Grand Ole Opry is closed for three months (Nov - Jan) we'll hit Nashville next time we come through, it looks like an interesting city. We're going to stay in the French Quarter in New Orleans, wonder what that will be like? We love the unknown.

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND AND HOPE TO HEAR ALL ABOUT IT ON SUNDAY NIGHT!! Sounds like you've got everything under control and it will all be a blast. I really do think you and Jessica would be a great pair together planning parties and you could probably make lots of money doing it as well - both names sound like someone would want to hire the both of you.

Hope you got our message on the phone - also hope the card arrives on time for Sterling's b'day on Wednesday. Thanks for finishing the job for us.
