Dremel anyone?

or should I say Mastercraft Rotary Tool?
November 2 Sterling spent part of the day learning how to use Baba's Dremel. He loved it and has so much to say about it afterwards. He showed me some of the things he had been working on and was so thrilled that Baba had let him use such a "grown up" tool.
Since then he has been talking about one, but had been told they were about $200. Last night while at Canadian Tire with Craig they came across a Mastercraft "Dremel". It was regular $80 on for $40 and had 150 attachments, including a clamp for hanging and a light that attaches to the end. Craig phoned and asked what I thought (although I already knew Sterling would get it) and I remembered dad saying that Sterling did awesome with it. So, he bought it. He had received $50 from his party and decided this was what he wanted to spend his money on. What a great choice.
So, last night all I heard was the whirring of the tool and an excited boy saying, "look at this, look what I can do, Kaedo you have to try this, hey I just drilled through this rock, Kaedo drill eyes in that.....". Beautiful sounds.
Now let's hope he doesn't wake up in the middle of the night deciding he needs to make a birdhouse out of his bedroom door.

Great photos of our two favorite boys. Sterling, you will have a great time with your first power tool. It's hard to cut yourself whittling with that. The extra part to your birthday present is in a green garbage bag in the storage room. We figured you'd need another one before the snow started to fall.

Kaeden, your tee shirt rocks & you look very cool in those shades.

You guys would love the road kill down here in Louisiana. Instead of skunks and prairie dogs it's armadillos and possum. Armadillos are the only natural carrier of leprosy in the world (that's what Baba told be anyway). He was a wealth of information today. New Orleans is so fantastically awesome, we love it. We walked the whole French Quarter today, 14 blocks by 7 blocks. Up each and every street, it rocked. Had lunch in the french window of this neat restaurant where the pigeons came in to eat the crumbs off the floor. Very neat. Baba had an oyster bunwich and he found a small black pearl in it..he hopes it's a pearl anyway. I had a catfish sandwich, it was very good 5 hours ago and it's still good.

Taking the trolley to the cemetary tomorrow. The graves are all above ground here and the monuments are incredible.

Took a drive around the perimeter of Katrina's damage, looked very interesting. We'll look deeper into it tomorrow, but we'll do it by car. Everything is abandoned and boarded up from slums to nice homes and commerical buildings. Quite amazing.

We haven't touched the warehouse district yet but hope to get it done on Thursday. There is so much to do and the terrain, foliage, construction is so different from what we have. It must cost billions to build roads here as so many of them are built on pylons in the water. The trees are still green, as is the grass but weather reports say it's going to get cold on Friday and Saturday. It was 26C today, just lovely. We plan to leave for Texas on Friday so hopefully the cold won't follow us, however, this place is so fascinating and we haven't been to Baton Rouge yet.....so much to do, so little time.

Love to all
