brace(less) face

AFTER
BEFORE
My gorgeous son just got a little bit handsomer (is that a word?). On Wednesday mom and I took him to the orthodontist to have his braces tightened etc and about 10 minutes into his appointment he came out and told us they were going to take his braces off. Yippeee! What a thrill! He and I were just so excited. I might have even been more excited, if truth be told. After three and a half years he was getting them off. What could be more exciting than that? The orthodontist, a kind man who has been doing orthodontia for about 30 years, seemed so happy that we were happy. At times when we couldn't believe how long it was taking, he would reassure us that it would be worth the wait. And he wasn't wrong. As soon as we left the office we booted over to Mac's and he got two packs of gum, which he proceeded to chew as if he hadn't had gum in 3.5 years - ha! His friends were great about telling him how good they looked and when we went back on Friday to get his retainer, one little chickie in the office gave him the once over. Yikes. Maybe if he keeps his mouth closed and head down I might get another year of no girls!

You were always handsome but now you're handsome with great looking teeth. They really look super, Sterling and you are very conscientious about your oral hygiene, that really makes a difference.

Another beautiful day in the neighborhood. We sat out and enjoyed the wonderful weather yesterday afternoon. Costco is in our plans for today and the library and who knows what else.

Love to all

I really think that handsomer is a word - at least that totally describes how your son looks without the braces. So worth all the pennies spent on them and everyone who has ever had them, says it all the time.

We arrived home from PA yesterday around 4:30. Got packing put away and wash on the go. Then we went over to Hank & Jewel's to pick up stuff from garage sale - well I say stuff and all that was left from our things was our gold rocker recliner. We picked it up and went over to Karen Kuntz's place to take Phyllis's shoes that she had left at Kelly & Petrica's. We mentioned that we had a rocker/recliner in the truck - would she be interested in having for their cabin at Fishing Lake. She talked to Martin and he said sure, so we unloaded it right away.

Today Stan & I played in the yard all day - it was a gorgeous day here and we took advantage of it. I have all my butterfly stuff put out and we sat on the deck for our supper. We also went for a bike ride around 5:00 p.m. so now I'm ready to relax in a nice hot tub to soak my tired muscles.

Hope everyone there had a great day - BIG HUGS TO ALL!
