mom, what's in my lunch?

That is the daily mantra. I started out this school year telling the boys that they would have to make their lunches themselves. Somehow I got back to doing it again. I must admit - I don't mind too much.

Today Sterling has a stellar lunch and he was thrilled with it.
- pepperoni and marble cheese slices with crackers
- grapes
- 2 yogurts
- Welsh's fruit chews
- sliced strawberries
- pudding

It is a small thing, but I am always happy when I can make something they like and enjoy eating and is healthy!

We loved your "sob" story from yesterday. At Christmas he had to put his arms around my neck instead of the other way around. You boys really have the deck stacked that you will be tall, very happy.

Great lunch boys. Wow, I got tomato soup or a grilled cheese, that was it. Plus I had to walk home and back to school at lunch hour....uphill both ways.

Yesterday we went to Cedar Key, had lunch at Tony's (best clam chowder in the world 3 years running), and took a 2-1/2 hour boat tour to some outer islands. The clam chowder was excellent and so was the boat tour. We saw dolphins and many birds but no manatees. Today we went to Manatee Springs State Park and tried to see some manatees. They were in the water but didn't come up, just their noses so that they could breathe. We expressed disappointment to some fellow travellers and they told us to go to Homosassa Springs State Park and we'd see some. Off we went another 100 km. but it was well worth it. It was absolutely fantastic. Not only manatees, but storks, whooping cranes, sand cranes, great blue herons, egrets, ibis, swans, and on and on. It was so awesome. Another great day.

We leave here tomorrow and head to Panama City Beach where we'll stay for six nights. A couple we met in Tampa will be there also and they told us that it is a new park and very lovely. It's about 350 kms. from here so it will take us most of the day as there will be a lot to see enroute.

Glad everyone's weather is so good. Ours is still great although it was supposed to rain yesterday and today. We saw the clouds, got three drops on the windshield on the way home, so I guess they were right.

Love to all
