Pumpkin Picking

We took off for our annual pumpkin picking and family photo session yesterday morning and boy was it wet! The rain was pouring and at the patch the tractor wasn't running and the water and mud was ankle high. But we had fun. We didn't go into the field - just too wet, but we did find some fun pumpkins. Craig has been hard at work thinking up designs for this year's pumpkin and so he was on the hunt for the perfect one for his masterpiece. Sterling decided he was going to do a witch so we seemed to have picked up a few "wart pumpkins". The are so ugly they are cute. Love them.
I usually take a ton of pictures when we do this but the rain was coming down so much that I only got a chance to snap a few.
Just as we were leaving, Sterling comes up to me and tells me he lost his cell phone. He had been carrying it while we were there, so as Craig loaded up everything, the three of us frantically searched for his phone. Someone found it and called Craig's cell while we were looking for it and we were able to meet up with him at the patch and get the phone back. Sterling was panicked. His phone is one of his true loves. :) Everyone should put "dad" in on their speed dial list so that when you lose your phone and a smart Samaritan retrieves it, they can scroll through your speed dial and call the one person who probably knows where you are!

Have fun carving those pumpkins!! Hope to see photos of the masterpieces! Great photos even if it was pouring rain.

So glad Sterling got his cell phone back - and "dad" on the cell phone is a great idea. We have ICE on ours (In Case of Emergency) as our home number - whether anyone would realize what ICE is but that was a suggestion at one time so we did it.

Had a great trip back and forth from P.A. and lots of fun with the little boys - they're growing up way too fast just like our BIG boys!!

I'm off to a doctor appt. this morning so best get going! Hope everyone has a great day!

BIG HUGS TO ALL!

Looks like it was loads of fun, rain and all. It sleeted here this morning so I got out my winter coat to take with me just in case it's cold in TO. Only have open toed shoes and sandals however so I guess I'll be taking boots as well.

I bet you're so glad your phone was returned Sterling. We know how much you love it and we enjoyed your "butt" call the other day. Never heard that expression before but it was very fitting.

Like you Shirley, we have ICE on our phones also. I'm sure it would work very well if it was needed, heaven forbid.

Had a great lunch with Lorne and Beryl when they came to town from Shaunavon on Friday. Saturday was spent getting the motorhome serviced and ready for the road. Sunday we went to Calgary to visit mom and had a lovely lunch, then high tea was put on by the CWL at her facility so we stayed and enjoyed that also. Today is laundry and packing and we have to totally winterize the motorhome so we will go to Jessica's until Wednesday. We only have to winterize as we'll have no heat on for the time we're in Toronto and we don't want the pipe's bursting. Tomorrow we head for Lethbridge as Denis wants a haircut, then lunch with Jan and Rod. Later we'll visit some friends who can't go south this year. He's only 55 and his health won't allow it. It makes you so glad about your own good health even if it's not perfect. Denis has a Dr appointment at 4.30 and then we'll head back to the Hat. AND WEDNESDAY, we'll be there. Can't wait!!

Won't have to put up with my comments on the blog until next week. You'll have to suffer through them face to face.

Love to all
