What the Hell?

Shoe shopping with Sterling is like having a root canal - without the good drugs. Painful, noisy (the grinding of my teeth) and time consuming. However, when your child has blown out their shoe right to the sock level, you can either wrap it in duck tape or buy new shoes.

The shoes he really wanted at first were $80 - which got a loud and vigorous "hell no!" from me. Unless he can cure cancer wearing those shoes, he's not getting them. Aside from that, we're not even talking about runners, they were more like glorified deck shoes. Did I mention they were too small?

Sterling has in his head that he doesn't want his feet to grow over size 13, so even if he's cripple, those are the ones he's getting. Not on my watch. The kid needs a 14. So we found the only pair of cool 14s in the place and these are them. I keep telling him that his feet are not done growing but some schmo whose name shall not be mentioned (CK) said he figured he was done growing. The clerk told us, YA, not so much - "he'll probably end up with a 16 or 17". I've been saying it all along. So really now it's just a case of mounting some bindings on those skis and he'll be good to go!

In other great news - Tar.get phoned me yesterday and my lost sunglasses were retrieved. I'm so happy. Off to get them this morning!

OH, and if  4am is too damn early, 5am is just damn early!

Lol! We know what shopping with Sterling is like. A root canal is over faster. The sunglasses shopping was a true test. The thing is, he kept apologizing for taking so long and we kept saying, 'just take your time'. No wonder it took hours and many miles. I would go through that all over again just to be near them both.

I think CK (whoever that is) doesn't want to be too much smaller than his 15 year old so his wishful thinking is that he is going to stop growing soon. I think so too but not until he's about 6'6"+ and size 16 shoes. When Baba told Sterling that his largest growth spurt was at 18, Sterling was quite surprised. Baba grew 6" in what seemed like overnight, he only wears size 11 shoes though. Tall is great and you need the feet to hold up all that height. Nice shoes Sterling... start checking out the 15s for when you need them.

Love to all

Hey Shannon - duck tape works okay - just ask Kaeden! Shoes look good Sterling - really do hope you don't get size 16 or 17 feet though! Auntie Linda said that she doesn't think Blake is done growing yet but not sure what size his shoes are.

Had a nice day with my sisters yesterday - it was 3 weeks yesterday since mom passed away. They came here for lunch and we went through all our cards, shed some tears and also went through some of mom's things that were left at the Lodge. We then went out and did our usual Friday shopping and bought two solar lights to take out to the graveside. One was pink with 2 butterflies on it and the other green with hummingbirds on it. Linda and I took them out there. We decided we didn't want to make supper and told the guys they were taking us out.

Got to get myself "up" and ready for a wonderful fun trip with my cousin to go visit another cousin in San Diego!!! We leave on Oct. 2 and back on the 9th. My suitcase is being put in the spare room today to start packing!

Well morning coffee is calling - have a great day everyone - BIG HUGS TO ALL!
