Farmer's Market

Friday morning we set out with one thing in mind - The Farmer's Market. We had gone the week before with Jessica and the girlies, but we hadn't really bought anything, so this was our first foray into what a Farmer's Market is all about. As you can see from the photos above, we scored some delicious fruit and vegetables. We bought a huge head of lettuce, some peppers, strawberries, white flash cherries, tomatoes, asparagus, cucumbers and apples. We had a great time and the boys loved it. They especially loved the homemade beef jerky truck. They went back for seconds and then thirds.
Once we got home and I unpacked everything, their friends started showing up. Needless to say, all the cherries got eaten. This prompted another trip to the Farmer's Market for another basket of cherries, along with another trip to the Beef Jerky stand.
We had a great day that ended with me signing up for a Learn To Run clinic at the Running Room. My first goal is to run the Race for a Cure 5K on October 2 and then keep training to run the Mother's Day Run in Calgary on May 13. I will be 40 that weekend, so my goal is to do the 5k (or if I'm good enough, the 10k).
Yikes - big plans - but goals are GOOD! I'd love it if you'd run with me ;)

More on a trip West coming soon.

Congratulations on training to run. I heard there is an app you can get for your phone that does the same thing - it gradually gets you to a level to run what you want (both for iPhone and Blackberry). Exciting to hear about your journey West. The boys keep asking when we can go to Sterling and Kaeden's house . . . sorry no plans yet, but they will be excited to see you guys. Too bad because Jacob is getting used to the water now and even went on a tube behind a boat this weekend - progress. Are the boys running in the Mother's Day Race? I know I will be interested in some exercise, but Jacob also likes running so who knows????? Is there a web site to get ready and register?

Cool - and we will also like to see Sterling get that bike before his birthday, so we will send money soon to put his money towards it.

Hope all is well.

I'm going to give running it again a shot. It was so fun when we did it before. I do fitness classes every morning at 9 but need better runners for running. I have the Skechers but they are only good for walking in. It would be so great if the whole family could run in it. Denis won't run but maybe he'll walk it. Anyway, someone has to walk with the little ones and I'm sure he'd love to do it. Between both families there will be 15 of us and I bet Auntie Suzy would do it also. What a great way to celebrate your 40th birthday!!

Like you, Kelly and Petrica, we'd love to see Sterling get his bike before the snow flies. We know he's working hard to help make that happen.

So happy to hear that you got a great seat sale, Stan and Shirley. That is always a bonus. We got a good one also considering the time we wanted to fly out. We also had enough Air Miles for one ticket so that was great. Those boys will remember the summer of 2011 for sure as so many family members will have visited them.

It was great seeing Dale and Linda last night, we had a good dinner. Just getting ready to head for lunch with Jan and Rod at 1. He had to deliver two loads of canola this morning so he's hoping there wouldn't be any hitches or else we'll still be at lunch at 4.

Love to all
