Window Shopping

Saturdays are spent with my boys. The three of us usually end up at the mall, looking around and hanging out. With Craig playing football on Saturday mornings, this is my opportunity to be with them and have some fun. Today we are heading to Pickering Towne Centre (remember that mall, mom, Jessica?). They have never been and I thought it would be fun to go and see the decorations and something different than OC. Sterling still has his secret Santa to buy for and we are looking for things for Craig. We may only window shop but one things for sure - the kids will convince me that nothing tastes better than mall food. So much for my diet!

Have fun shopping with your boys Shannon! Hope your football game went well Craig.

We haven't done too much today - slept in for abit, relaxed with coffee, late breakfast, put plastic around our basement windows to keep the draft out, Stan just went out to shovel the skiff of snow we had late yesterday afternoon and last night and then we may take a walk down to Pharmasave to pick up the "lucky" ticket and have coffee at Tim Horton's.

We had Larry & Faye Gould over for supper and cards last night - lots of fun and laughter. We sometimes worry too much having friends over for a meal - what to feed them, what they like etc. but it really doesn't matter - we could probably serve them a bowl of soup and a bun and us ladies anyway would be happy just not to have to make a meal!

13 more sleeps to go - putting a few things in my suitcase so I won't forget to pack them later. Our spare room across from us has all the suitcases sitting in there ready to pack. Hope our weather continues to cooperate till we're there safe and sound.

Have a great day - BIG HUGS TO ALL!

Wifi, finally!!! What a killer not being connected to the outside world. I looked back at all your blogs and the tree looks awesome, very beautiful. The gnome with the boys, well, what would a week be like without a handsome face to show off...good lookin' gnome. I can't believe it's been two years since you started at the bank, that is unbelievable. Where has the time gone? I can't believe it's been 5-1/2 years since we started this incredible journey.

We have really missed the wifi but especially missed the IM during the time we were in Winters. We arrived in Oceano this afternoon after a drive down from New Brighton State Park. Yesterday we toured Monterey and did the 17 Mile Drive around Pebble Beach and Spyglass hill. It was fantastic. Before we left the park today we walked (waded) for about 90 minutes. My jeans were wet to the knees but once the waves surprise you the first time it's too late to worry about it after that. Denis stayed dry and he had shorts on but I was very involved in looking for sand dollars and sea glass. Found about 7 pieces of glass but no sand dollars. The scenery today was the most glorious of the whole trip. The weather was uber perfect, around
20C and we went up mountains and down mountains, around washouts and earthquake damaged roads and over some real rough stuff. The ocean was with us the whole day, mountains one side, ocean on the other. We left at 10.30 this morning and arrived here at 4.30, six hours to do 195 miles, so it was a fast trip considering. We've done lots of side trips this week and plan to be here for three full days so we have lots planned. The ocean is just down the path from the park so we will be checking it out tomorrow as well as doing lots of other things on the checklist. Led Denis down to Carmel-on-the-sea this morning, not my best decision. We weren't sure if the MH would make it through the trees or past the Rolls Royces, Bentleys and all the other fantastic vehicles parked along the verrrry narrow roadway. It was another wonderful adventure. Hope you're all enjoying your weather as much as we're enjoying ours.

Love to all
