For Christmas 2006 we decided to surprise the boys with a trip to Great Wolf Lodge. We got up and opened our gifts then presented them each with an envelope with money inside and a brochure. Within the hour we were on our way. We spent three days playing in the water park, visiting the Falls, sightseeing and having a blast. It was a wonderful Christmas and great surprise for them. They had been bugging us to go so I was so happy we were able to do it. I think it cost about the same as going to Disney but it was worth it.

Circa 2006
For Christmas 2006 we decided to surprise the boys with a trip to Great Wolf Lodge. We got up and opened our gifts then presented them each with an envelope with money inside and a brochure. Within the hour we were on our way. We spent three days playing in the water park, visiting the Falls, sightseeing and having a blast. It was a wonderful Christmas and great surprise for them. They had been bugging us to go so I was so happy we were able to do it. I think it cost about the same as going to Disney but it was worth it.

Those are such great memories. Visiting special places are always so much fun. When we took the boys to Niagara-on-the-Lake we biked to Great Wolf Lodge and they told us what a great time they'd had there. We went to the helicopter sightseeing venue that day too but Kaeden didn't want to take a trip and we weren't sure how you would feel about it and I remember Sterling being a little bummed out because he wanted to go. We hadn't asked you in advance so we decided not to do it. Afterwards you said it would be ok so we'll do it next time Sterling.
Had a wonderful day exploring roads that aren't on the map, getting lost a couple of times, going to the end of the road, it just stops. It says end of road, period. Figured Surf would be a great place but it was an Amtrak station for Lompoc with beach access. Nothing there but a train stop, hilarious. Enjoyed visiting the Mission of La Purisima. Vandenburg AFB is in this area and we were able to photo the hangar where the shuttle goes if it can't land in Florida due to bad weather. It's quite the base, huge. We got home just at dark which is around 5.15, good thing as the road we know was closed and we had to make a detour. Another great day, sunny but a light jacket or long sleeve T was required.
