We thought Winter was coming as so many people told us about all their snow and cold weather. We have been blessed with a beautiful Fall, but on Wednesday the snow came. Big, beautiful flakes cascaded down and I thought a blizzard may be coming. It lasted about an hour and within about 15 minutes of it stopping all the sidewalks and driveways were clear and no shoveling was necessary. Let me tell you I was glad about that. I still hadn't broken it to the boys that shoveling was going to become their chore this winter. Kaedo took full advantage of the soft sticky snow to get outside and build a mini fort and snowman. Our first of the year. I love it.
Now there is a little skiff of snow that has turned crunchy but I was still able to wear my sandals with no socks today. Don't think that will last too much longer. I am hoping for a minimal snow year as I am not one of those people that has to see the white stuff to get into the season. Who knows, maybe Stan and Shirley will bring their crappy weather with them. They better not or they'll be getting coal for Christmas.

Didn't get a comment back to you re: hockey game - what a fun time Craig and Kaeden must have had! I'm sure you enjoyed your pretzel Kaeden.

So glad to see you got abit of the white stuff - I'm sure you were both missing it just a little! I don't think we will be putting our shovels away for quite some time. Our mayor says money for clearing the streets here has been spent a month earlier than planned! Hate to think what the streets will be like in December. Cute snowman Kaeden. Shannon - you mentioned wearing your sandals with no socks! We still remember meeting you for the first time at Christmas and you came in with your sandals and bare feet and we were wondering how you could stand it. We'll try not to bring the white stuff and crappy weather along with us because I've already been praying for beautiful weather for us to make it there safe and sound. We've had a few pictures taken through the years at Christmas time with no snow and even a couple of pictures with dad and Stan holding their golf clubs to show the people out west it can be nice here as well. Speaking of dad, it's been 13 years today that he passed away and it always brings tears to my eyes just thinking about him. How the years go by.(Mentioning coal for us for Christmas also brings back memories of dad because he always stuck a piece of coal in his stocking from Santa and when we were young, we always thought he must have been bad. He always loved Christmas time and made it very special for all of us.)

We just got home from a 50th wedding anniversary celebration(John & Alice Wall - I worked with her at the Comp). It was a very nice afternoon. Our premier, Brad Wall (their son), was the Master of Ceremonies and did a wonderful job praising his mom and dad for their special occasion.

Tonight we are going to our church for the Senior Christmas banquet. Barb talked me into helping her with a play. It should be a fun evening.

Hope you've had a great day - talk to you tomorrow - BIG HUGS TO ALL!

Great looking snowman Kaeden, he looks like he might be starting to melt already. It was great talking with you today and we're so glad that you scored a goal. Great news that you did also Sterling, and it was awesome speaking with you also.

The roses are in bloom and lots of flowers are still blooming here, the leaves are still on the trees although some have turned yellow and some red but the main colour is green. The Napa Valley is very beautiful but we have no cell, text or wifi. There is just satellite hookup in the clubhouse. I may not survive without my BB. We'll go into Sacramento tomorrow so we'll be able to IM. Another beautiful drive today, 90 miles took 3-1/2 hours and we didn't even stop for photos as there was no where to pull over. Now I know why mapquest wouldn't give us the route I'd marked out. Oh well, it was another adventure. When we pulled into the resort the guy made some remark about the signage that we'd disobeyed. I told him that it was backward so we couldn't see it. He told us that no one ever came from the firection we did; he wasn't so snarky after that. I told him we were Canadians, that seemed to have said it all.

Lots to do in the four days we're staying here as we are so centrally located. It's getting warmer, but the rain still comes down on and off during the day. We did have some sunshine today inbetween raindrops.

Love to all
