Week 26

Week 26 and the weather is GREAT!

We had a great day today.

I had the opportunity to spend all afternoon with my friend D and we never run out of things to talk about. She is a list maker like me, so half the time she is on her phone asking me to spell the names of books I have read. LOL.

Craig and Sterling spent the afternoon together doing all things car maintenance. Oil change, trip to the auto source place, hot dogs at Cost.co, and just hanging out together.

Kaedo spent the afternoon with his buddy S, playing Mine.Craft, scootering, going to DQ for lunch and having fun.

The boys have headed out for their volunteering, and we're just getting ready for the week.

Short week for everyone with the holiday on Friday. Everyone is looking forward to a four day weekend and a trip to the movies. GI.Joe starts this weekend and some of my favorite guys are in it, so I guess I'll have to twist some arms to get someone to come with me. LOL.

For our sweet nieces and nephews - we have sent some Easter treats to you. I hope they arrive by Thursday. If not, it will just extend your Easter by another day or two.  We love you guys!

Welcome back mom and dad. Poor you to have to be out of the heat and into the cold. Dad, I hope you can fashion some kind of duct tape sandal that will both keep your feet warm and dry and still look fashionable.

Yes, we are home. Mom was dying last week, but today she is just fine. We got our reservations cancelled just in time to be told that things weren't as bad as they seemed. The wonderful thing about it is that we will see mom, we will get to spend Easter with Jessica and the girls and we will have an overnight with the girls while mom goes to Calgary for a concert.

The weather here is lovely right now but we'd rather be in the warm sun as opposed to the cold sun. This early DST really works in our favor when we come home. We were doing well in Mesquite so didn't get out of there until 12.45 pm MDT. We drove to Payson, Utah and spent the night there. We awoke to snow, texted Jessica to check roads, and after checking 50 road cameras she told us we'd be out of it within an hour or so. We got on the Interstate and by the time we hit Provo we were probably the only ones going in the right direction. There were cars facing every which way and Denis got into the HOV lane and just kept going. Our necks were sore looking from one accident and pile up to another. Thank goodness it was Saturday so the traffic was at a minimum. We drove all the way to Helena, a very easy drive it seemed. We never realized just how far we'd come in one day as we never drive in the dark. We got to Lethbridge at one o'clock today. We are astounded at how well it went, our first year towing.

We brought some boxed wine back with us. At Superstore it was $42.00 when we left. At Walmart in Arizona, it is $12.89. We brought back a few, declared it at the border and after paying duty it still came to less than $20.00 a box. The guy told us he'd charge us for less wine and put the beer through with duty as it was cheaper for us. OK, Canada Customs, you do have some nice folks working there. Next year we'll bring back enough to last us the year...guess we'll have to tow a trailer as well.

Hope your long days ease up Craig. Sterling, are you getting instructions on how to maintain your own car? You'll be able to drive before you know it. Kaeden, take care of that knee until they know what needs to be done. Baba wants you to wear a glove while carving, hope you have one. Talk tomorrow Shannon.

Love to all
