Can we just pretend.....

...that today is Sunday? The holiday here kind of screwed me up and I didn't realize my error until we were on our way to the movies this morning. That's right, your read correctly - I hate waiting in line at the show and hate it even more when I don't get my seat. Yes, we have specific spots we like to sit in. So, my poor family is stuck often arriving close to an hour early to see our chosen show. In the age of cell phones with data plans, it's not such a big deal. I figure they can play games or text their friends.

We went and saw the new Die.Hard. Totally awesome, if you like incredible car chases, cheesy lines, great effects, tons of destruction and the triumph over evil. Which we do. I love me some Bruce.Willis. Awesome!

This afternoon is just getting organized for a shortened work week (yay!), Kaedo`s MRI tomorrow, Kaedo`s report card Wednesday, a visit with my aunt on Saturday and spending some time together as a family. That`s my favorite part.

Today is Monday, Shannon. I'm glad that Die Hard is so good as we are going to see it with friends on Thursday at 3.30 for $5. each. It's good to be old sometimes.

Yesterday was the most awesome. Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument is without a doubt the most awesome sight you will ever see. We have planned next year around staying there for a while. You can obtain permits and cross the Sonoran Desert and go all the way to Yuma off road. 117 miles through the desert, we just have to do that. Denis said we`d stay overnight at Yuma Landing but I prefer the Quechan. We've never done the eastern side of Arizona so that's the plan. We can fly from Phoenix to Toronto for Christmas without too much hassle, leave the motor home in the desert, and fly back after the New Year. Nothing like planning ahead. I wonder how many times those plans will change.

Canadian Snowbird association meeting and entertainment tomorrow and then we are hosting dinner at our place. All us Canucks love this meeting, it tells us what we can and cannot do here in the US. It has also lobbied on behalf of the seniors not being harrassed as we cross the border in April. The border agents have changed quite considerably since this lobby was first presented. One thing about coming back though, you can say whatever is on your mind or whatever you think of them if they're being dickheads, they cannot refuse you entry to your own country. We think they have a better grasp that we are not drug smugglers in the illegal sense, we just like to bring more wine and beer than is allowed.

Wednesday we have to get new shocks for the motor home. That won't be as cheap as the laundry which gets done on Wednesday also. We have to go to Mexico for our teeth between now and the 28th, also some prescription drugs that we don't have a prescription for. Forgot to get one of my prescriptions filled before leaving home. So much to do, so little time. Can't believe we are leaving here next week. Everyone is scattering next week so it`s probably a good time to head out. We`ll all meet up for a day or so here and there.

We`ll all start heading north next week but we`ll all take 5-6 weeks to go 200 miles. Early April will find us all in Mesquite or environs and then we`ll get serious about getting back to the cold weather. We`re usually home before anyone else as Emma has a dance recital starting on the 9th and mom needs her income tax done. I think we`ll need to find work this summer as we have big plans and small dollars.

Love to all

Great photo once again guys! The long weekends go by way to fast for those working folks - everyday is a weekend for us and we sometimes forget that it is a weekend.

We saw the preview for the new Die Hard movie when we went to Identity Thief and Stan commented that he wants to see that so we'll have to watch when it comes and go to cheap Tuesday - that's not only for seniors so the theatre gets filled up pretty quick.

Have a great short week of work and school. We are having a much busier week than usual with the little guys here. Today it is -16 out and the windchill is way to cold to go out for too long so it's a movie, game and coloring afternoon with grampa getting caught up on some much needed rest. We haven't heard from their parents but we're sure they're totally enjoying much warmer weather than it is here or in P.A.

Hope the weather gets alot warmer for you - Denis & Irene - before heading back north. It will be a BIG adjustment if it doesn't. Sounds like you're having a wonderful time as usual - take care.

BIG HUGS TO ALL!
