Found these ads on "OH SO VINTAGE"s blog and had to share them. I remember having a dog slinky. I love the ads, even the sexism. What woman, at any time would have wanted a vaccuum cleaner for Christmas? I just can't see it.
In the olden days, when housework was uber strenuous, a vacuum cleaner would have been a wonderful gift. My mom loved getting household items that would make her life easier. I'm sure you remember me telling dad that if he ever bought me an appliance for Christmas or birthday, I'd throw it at him, lol. It made those occasions difficult for him as our generation was raised with those types of gifts being acceptable. He caught on real quick though.
