Friday 1 January 2010

Happy New Year everyone. 2010 came in with a bang for us. 11 kids banging into each other, thrilled with the fact that they were up past midnight. We were fortunate enough to be invited to a New Year's Party last night and we didn't roll into our driveway until 12:45am. It didn't take long and everyone was in bed. I set my alarm for 10:55am, as I had a morning call to mom at 11am. Kaedo and I made monkey bread then mom and I had a great chat and at 12:30pm I finally went upstairs to make sure Sterling wasn't dead as he was still asleep. I woke him up and we quickly got ready and headed out to the zoo. It was great. There was hardly anyone there and it was snowing and FREE! We have a year pass but thought we would have to pay the parking. What a nice surprise to find out the parking is free throughout the winter. Such luck.

A movie night tonight and bowling tomorrow. Looking forward to another day with my guys.

What a lovely family photo! It looks like it's snowing there. You look like you're having a great time. It's so nice spending a holiday day doing something fun.

We went to Long Beach today and took a harbour tour. It was very nice and very interesting. The weather was nice, about 20C, not too hot and not too cold. We then went for an hors d'oeuvres at Tequila Jacks. It brings back great memories of our time there with June and Ron many years ago. They served Margaritas by the jug then but not anymore. Good thing. There had been a huge New Years Eve party on the pier and they were still doing the clean up at 4 pm. It was a nice relaxing day and then we had to come home and do laundry. Some things never change. Tomorrow we're back to Disneyland.

Love to all

Sounds like you had a fun time bringing in 2010. We did as well but are a little bit tired today.

Looks like your day at the Zoo went very well and I agree with Irene - what a beautiful family photo. I've saved it to my photos on our new computer!!

We went to the Bronco hockey game this afternoon and they won 3-2 after a game delay that was supposed to start at 2:30 and didn't start till 4:30 because the Medicine Hat bus broke down at Maple Creek as well as bad weather. After the hockey game we were invited to Jim & Roberta's for supper and got home around 10:00 p.m.

We've had a great start to the new year and hope it continues all year round.

All the best to you Denis & Irene - hope your travels are safe. Sounds like things are going well for you so far. Take care and keep in touch.

BIG HUGS TO ALL!
