Lucky Friday

Our first Easter here (in 2004 - gasp) Stan and Shirley made their first visit to us. On Good Friday we decided to take a trip to Niagara Falls. While I can't remember the exact way it happened, one of the funniest things about Good Friday was Sterling informing us it was actually called "Lucky Friday". To this day we still call Good Friday, Lucky Friday, and probably always will.

On another note - just to update everyone -
Kaedo is feeling better today. With a couple of doses of medicine and the puffer he is feeling better and hasn't thrown up in about 18 hours. I don't really care about that anymore as Craig is home and he can clean up the puke. The pneumonia will stick with him for the next while and he will be taking Zithromax for the rest of the week and the puffer for the month. He is not able to do TKD until a week Monday. As always, he is in wonderful space and when asked how he feels he says, "great, fantastic". That's my boy.

On another, another note -
Sterling is doing awesome. He had a wonderful week at school and last night went for dinner at his friend's house and stayed there until 11pm. He had a riot and definitely wasn't ready to come home. In saying that, he crashed when I finally yelled to him to "shut your damn light off!".

We don't have any plans for Easter. Craig is aggressively lobbying for turkey on Sunday, so maybe he'll make us a turkey dinner. Yum.

Hope you are all well - enjoy your Lucky Friday.

Our memories of our first trip down east are soooo special and our trip to Niagra Falls is one that we will remember always. Looking at the pictures, one can hardly believe the boys were so little. Sterling's comment of "Lucky Friday" is something that we bring up as well at this time of year.

We're so glad to hear you're feeling better Kaeden - hopefully no more "puking" - you described it soooo well on the phone yesterday! Hope you're feeling well enough to go to the Webkins due tomorrow - I know you said you were going regardless!

Sterling - nice to hear you had a great week at school and that you had fun at your friends place. You're getting so grown up so fast.

Dad and I slept in this morning and just got up from the breakfast table awhile ago. The shelf on the Lazy Susan was sliding down and so I took everything off so dad could raise and tighten it. Gave me a chance to wipe off the "stuff" on the shelf and tidy it up. We got a call last night from Barb and she invited dad and I to come for supper tonight. Tom and Tanya are arriving later today so we'll get a visit with them as well.

Joyce and her sister-in-law, Eleanor, arrived on the bus from Calgary yesterday. Dad and I walked down to meet them and Jim Barber picked them up. They are staying at Jim & Roberta's place for the week. Christine and Don are flying to China today - that was Don's retirement gift from Christine. We'll take turns having Joyce and Eleanor over for meals because it's getting to be way to many if we all try and get together. Roberta had her family all for supper last night plus mom, Joyce and Eleanor and there were 14 of them. Joyce and Eleanor and mom will be here tomorrow for supper and probably another meal before the week is over. When dad and I leave on the 28 for Calgary and then on to Kelowna, we offered to take Joyce, Eleanor and mom back to Calgary. When I saw Eleanor and Joyce's suitcases as well as Joyce's walker - not sure if everything will fit in our little Honda but I guess we'll find out!

Good luck with your turkey supper Craig - if you need any helpful hints - you can call me! I'm thinking I might have to cook a little one for ourselves as well on Sunday or it might just have to be a chicken.

HAVE A WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL GOOD "LUCKY" FRIDAY and we'll talk to you Sunday.

BIG HUGS TO ALL!

Great photos of Niagara Falls as well as our little ones. The six of you make a wonderful family portrait.

Glad you're doing better today Kaeden. We were pretty worried about you yesterday but the Webkins must happen so we're sure you'll feel way better tomorrow. Pneumonia is not a fun thing, when I was young I was in the hospital for two weeks with it. Way better drugs these days.

Sterling, your mom wasn't allowed out until 11 pm until she was a teenager. Lucky you. Glad you had a great week at school. Just keep remembering all those things we talked about. Amma knows.

The weather is gorgeous again today. I biked to Wal-Mart after breakfast to get some stuff for dad's jewelry. It's only 11 km. round trip and I know it would be better to walk but it's faster to bike. It doesn't seem worth while getting that sweaty for such a short ride. It's flatter than flat and there was no wind today so it makes for easy going.

We were supposed to go to Mexico this afternoon but the swimming pool beckons and dad's already in it. We haven't been to the Greyhound races for a couple of weeks so we'll probably go there tonight and head to Mexico tomorrow. Easter dinner is at 2 pm on Sunday so we'll be enjoying a nice ham dinner.

Went to bridge lessons yesterday and then to the social last night but they didn't have enough for three tables so I went to Bingo. Won two games so I'm glad I went. Love bridge but it definitely requires a lot of practice to even begin to think you can play without some coaching.

Have a Very Happy Easter. We'll call on Sunday to see how the boys enjoyed all their finds. Thanks for helping the Easter Bunny get the right things.

Love to all
