schools back

Mixed emotions about going back to school (duh!). The boys slept well and weren't up too early. Kaed was excited to see his friends and Sterling just refused to be excited. I got them to school in plenty of time and found their class lines. I saw Mme Pare-Pilon and Kaed just disappeared into his group of buddies and was done with me. Sterling was a bit more apprehenseive. I took him to his portable and introduced myself to his teacher. He has never had a male teacher and I was very impressed. After last year a trained dog would have impressed me. We spoke about Sterling's allergy and his treats that I provided and he explained to me that he was very strict but fair.
After school I spoke briefly to them about their day but wanted to keep the bulk of the day until supper time so that they wouldn't have to tell it all twice. They had lots to say about their classes and friends.
KAED
1 - english teacher is mean
2 - Mme is super nice - "the nicest teacher I've ever had"
3 - met 3 new friends
4 - best friend is in his class
5 - one of his friends that was supposed to move away didn't

STERLING

1 - teacher is nice but very strict

2 - favorite teacher is his english teacher again

3 - got to hang out with the gang

4 - good group in class

5 - not too much homework (teacher hated it as a kid, so doesn't want to give much)

That's about it. Not too much else to tell you. So far it is going well, but it is only the first day so anything can change.

Hey guys,

Good luck with the school year. I sometimes hate going back, but as you get into the groove and met friends it is fun. Sterling - like your choice of shirts for your first day of school. I guess we will realize the nervous energy of sending your child to school too soon. Right now we are nervous about daycare and whether or not his new teeth hurt! Life changes fast - all we can do is enjoy the ride. Have a great trip Shan and boys enjoy school.

Hope my message wasn't to confusing Shannon!!

Sterling & Kaeden - you look great!! Hope the rest of your week only gets better and better!

Just got home awhile ago after getting mom through her cataract surgery. We had to be at the hospital by 7:45 this morning and her surgery wasn't until 9:45 a.m. Roberta came with us and when mom went in for her surgery, we went down for toast and coffee. We were back up to check for mom at 10:35 and she was sitting up having a muffin and coffee. We left the hospital by 11:00, had lunch and had to put drops in her eye by 1:00 and back up to the hospital by 1:30 for Dr. Banks to check all the patients he had operated on in the morning - which were 7 women and 1 man - all left eyes done today. Got mom home and made her get into bed for a rest. Jean is taking supper over for her and putting drops in her eye and Roberta will do the late shift of eye drops. She has to have the drops put in 4 times a day until the bottles are empty which will probably be 2 weeks. Busy time ahead! Everything went very well the doctor said so hopefully on the 25th of Sept. when she has the right eye done, everything will go just as well.

Stan's over at Leonard's helping him get his siding started so not sure what time he will be home. It's beautiful out today so Len decided to take time off and get it started.

Hope your trip goes well Shannon!

Big hugs to everyone!

Glad your first day was good, boys. No one got beat up or anything like that. The pictures are great, Kado, you look so happy, Sterling, get happy.

Booked the ferry to leave the Island for the 17th. Taking the long haul as it works out to the same price. Denis got a sleep spot, I didn't. That's what happens when you try for the adventurous. I'm going to sneak below the water line and sleep in the motorhome. If I get caught it'll be shackles until docking. They say Canadian jails are better than most hotels, and free.

Love to all
