I hate to see police abuse because, let's be honest, when we're in trouble they are really our best friends. They have a job to do and I think the great majority do it to the best of their ability. Having been stopped on numerous occasions for traffic infractions I have always found them courteous and helpful. When stopped last year for carrying an illegal weapon (radar detector) I was advised how to proceed if I wanted to fight back. I did, I won but I probably wouldn't have, had it not been for the kind officer.
Having said all this, yesterday I was about to make an illegal U turn on the Trans Canada in Newfoundland. I was doing my second mirror check when a police car came around the curve. He made a right hand turn just a 100 yards ahead of me, right into Tim Hortons. I made my U turn and that's all folks! Oh, I did get a $30.00 parking ticket in St. John's. I have until October 26 to pay. Where will I be then????
