Hi everyone. How was your weekend? We had lots going on. Let's get to it. Bowling Saturday AM. Sterling did awesome. Brought his average up 8 points. He is loving it, although he fades a little in the 3rd game. That's 90 balls thrown. He was very happy with his performance and Craig was able to catch part of the last game. I brought the DVD player for Kaedo so he just sat in a corner and watched a movie. All was good with him as well.
Craig had football, and as always, enjoyed his time. He's a sucker for football. Anytime, anywhere.
Saturday night we had the opportunity to go to the Police Games at the Rogers Centre. It was really quite amazing. It was the 125th Police Games and this year it was a celebration of Canadian Troops. They had all branches of the Armed Forces talking to the kids as well as a large "parade" of Police, Enforcement agencies, Armed Forces, etc. The Chief of Police was there as well as the Police Band with the bagpipes. They played Amazing Grace and I almost cried. Such a beautiful song. Definitely one of my favorites. A wonderful singer sang the Canadian Anthem. He gave me goose bumps with his wonderful voice. They also had two soldiers rappel from the roof holding the Canadian Flags. Very cool. The Police bikes were there and did a tour around the infield. The Canadian Idol winner and top 9 were there and put on a concert between events. They were very good, too. The events were fantastic. There was the tug of war (sorry, not mud fights and bikinis, guys) There was the Superstar challenge - an obstacle course that includes flipping a 250lb tire and scaling a 10ft fence. Very Cool. There was also a relay which was very cool. All in all the whole experience was great and we owe a big thanks to the Kerrs for kindly hosting us. I guess it's good to know a cop. We got home at 11:40pm and quickly headed off to bed.
Yesterday was the first swimming lesson and Kaed loved it. Sterling, not so much. He just needs to practice and he'll start jumping up levels no problem. Craig took them both giving me 1.5 hours of freedom. Aaaahhhhh, it was great. I spent the day working. I have a big deadline on Wednesday so I am furiously trying to get finished. The boys spent their day playing with the backyardigans and Sterling and Noah even conned Craig into a bike ride.
Today is Monday (as you know) and the week starts full on. School in 30 minutes (Sterling is still in bed, by the way), and work for me - all day. TKD tonight - my night to drive - helps me feel like I'm pulling my weight. Supper, homework and Craig is then back to all his shows he likes so I will be working, probably.
I am looking forward to my weekly Wednesday night date with my friend. It is my week to choose. Strippers? We'll see.

Hope you have a good day,
s

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend with lots going on. Your b'day singing was wonderful to come home to - sorry we missed it in person! We had a busy weekend as well - Friday night we went to Houston's Lounge to help Amanda celebrate her 19th b'day (legal age for her to get in to a Saskatchewan bar). Linda and Sam came over to our place after for coffee. We were up at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday morning and on the road by 7:00 a.m. heading to Brooks with Jim, Roberta and Mom for Auntie Hazel's funeral. Linda and Sam met us on the highway and we travelled together. Got to Brooks around 10:15 a.m. and funeral was at 11:00 a.m. Lots of cousins to give big hugs to and help us all say our good-byes. The minister did a wonderful job as did Holly doing a tribute to her gramma and Lyn Tooke finished the service with one of her poems she made for Auntie Hazel. Lunch was served at the Legion and after that we went over to Jim and Lyn's to visit somemore and of course eat somemore! We left Brooks around 5:30 p.m., stopped for gas in Dunmore and home around 8:30 or so. That evening Stan and I decided we would go to Biggar on Sunday morning to see Curtis Klassen's induction to his church in Biggar. We followed Robert and Barb and left around 8:00 a.m. It was pouring rain up to Rosetown and was overcast for the afternoon. They had a potluck dinner and then we went over to see Curtis and Carrie's home they purchased in July. We left Biggar around 3:30 p.m.in pouring rain all the way home, got home around 5:30 p.m. and picked up an ice cream cake for lunch for Stan's b'day. I think I'm getting lazy re: baking b'day cakes!! We listened to all Stan's b'day greetings, made some calls, had a quick bite to eat and at 7:30 we got company over for cake and coffee. Everyone left around 9:45 p.m., I cleaned up and hit the sack and don't remember anything until the alarm went off at 7:00 a.m. Stan and I went for a walk, I went to Curves, came home and then I went over to mom's to start putting drops in her right eye for her cataract surgery tomorrow morning. We have to have her at the hospital by 7:15 a.m.!!! and surgery is scheduled for 9:10 a.m. Hope all goes well and then we go to Dr. Banks's office at 4:00 p.m. to check the right eye and check how the left eye is doing after 3 weeks. Busy, busy, busy! This weekend is the Fall Into Christmas Craft Show and Stan and I will be working for Stu & Cyndi Tasche, setting up on Friday night and working Saturday and Sunday and then taking down on Sunday afternoon and evening. It is a long weekend of working but lots of fun as well. Okay, got to get moving, I'll go back to put drops in mom's eye again at noon and then I'm going to work for Cyndi this afternoon for a few hours.

Denis & Irene - wondering if the leaves are as beautiful down east as they are in S.C. this past week. We're enjoying them while we can because after this weekend of wind and rain, we came home yesterday to a carpet of gold on our lawn.

Hugs to all!

Glad everyone had such a busy and enjoyable weekend. No reason for anyone in this gang to cry boredom. Hope you had a super birthday, Stan. Could you hear us sing??

We walked all around Halifax on Saturday and went to the harness racing in Truro on Sunday. The trees here are turning but not enough to even bother with a photo. We walked the seafront in Dartmouth on Monday morning then took the car across the bridge and biked in Halifax all afternoon. It was awesome. It's the best way to see all the fabulous houses that are on Young Street. We biked the boardwalk, stopped to use the washroom at the Casino (if you get my drift)and just had a super day walking and biking. Today we took the ferry from Caribou, N.S. to Woods Island, PEI. We are now in Charlottetown and have had a wonderful afternoon going through exhibits, watching cruise ships leave harbour and walking along the boardwalk.

Hope things are good with your mom, Shirley.

Love to all
