It's 4:01am as I sit here. The house is quiet, at least for a few more hours. I have been up for an hour, thinking about Sterling and the last 16 years. What an amazing young man he has become. Kind, caring, loving, loyal. He has a smart mind and infectious sense of humor. He is gorgeous and has no idea he is. He will stand up for you, stand beside you, stand in front of you, with the conviction of someone who knows that if he has put his trust in you you are worth fighting for. He is a good teacher, and good learner and an excellent helper.
In short, he is truly amazing.
We have a big day planned which includes blowing off school, getting his driver's license, his new health card, having lunch, getting the stuff for his small party tonight and just having a wonderful day.
16 to me is the first major milestone to adulthood. If you know me, you know I am in no rush for either of my guys to get older, however, I am so impressed with the job Sterling is doing (and let's face it, growing up is a job) that I am excited and thrilled for him as he turns 16 today.
The camera is ready at the door so I can document the day. I will post pictures later tonight or tomorrow but just want to give a big shout out to the most fabulous 16 year old on the planet!
Happy Sweet Sixteen my love! All your hard work has paid off - you're exactly who you should be. And that is someone amazing!

Glad we got to talk with you on your big day, but wanted to wish you a wonderful year ahead once again. You truly are amazing and your mom has given a great description of the kind and wonderful person you are. Our internet is so sporadic that we came into town to read the blog. The price of internet on our cruise will be $24USD per hour or .75 per minute. Don´t think you´ll hear from us too often starting on Wednesday.
Kaeden, mom said you helped Sterling with his studying, so big hugs to you for being the perfect brother. Make sure he helps you when it´s your turn to get your license.
Heading out for tapas as we are going to a birthday party in Almaria tonight. We´ll stay overnight at the military barracks as that is where the party is being held. Bartolome owns a couple of restaurants in Almeria and he thinks he´s catering a party for the colonel, not for his own party. He won´t be able to complain about the food. It is guaranteed to be the finest and the wines and cava will be top quality. Love going for lunch and dinner with him and Rosa, so the party is sure to be a blast.
