Quiet Time

Hello All - Happy Saturday.
The boys are playing XBOX, Craig is at football and I am contemplating what to do today. You see, I'm not working today. Sounds great, but there is one problem. I have been struck mute by a killer case of laryngitis. I've been 'quiet' since Thursday. I think the fam is loving it but it really sucks to have to get out of bed at midnight and go downstairs to tell the boys to get their asses to bed. Love when I can just yell at them. I went to the doctor on Thursday and Friday and she says it's just Laryngitis and prescribed me some cough medicine (with codeine - ya me) and some other pills for what she says is a bacterial infection.
So, needless to say, I'm not working - as my job involves ALWAYS talking to people.
Hope you have a noisy, fun filled weekend - whatever you plan to do.

So sorry to hear you're not feeling well Shannon. Nothing is worse than a mother not being able to "YELL" at their family. My mom used to get laryngitis alot and can you imagine trying to keep a family of 7 in order with no voice. Take care and hope the medicine works quickly.

Not sure how noisy, fun filled our weekend will be but we started out with a fun evening last night. We drove out to friends place out of town which we'd never been to. They gave us instructions and we made it there and had a very nice evening just getting caught up on families. Craig you might remember a Stacey Ratzlaff from school - it was her parents and they are a couple we play walleyball with. Tonight Stan will be going to Bronco hockey game and I'm not sure what my plans will be. This afternoon Linda is picking me up and I'm going to help her develop some photos from their Christmas and birthdays. Tomorrow our church is having a Fund Raising at lunch time with Chili and dessert. I was asked to bring a 9 x 13 dessert. My friend Margaret was here last weekend and told me about this easy dessert so I got it on the go this morning. You mix a box of angel food cake mix and a 19 oz. of crushed pineapple together, put it in an ungreased 9 x 13" pan and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. It looks like it turned out and I will take along a container of Cool Whip to put on it just before serving - easy and should be delicious!!

Well, got to get some lunch on the go before Linda arrives - hope the rest of your day turns out to be lots of fun and a little bit of noise!

Love you lots - BIG HUGS TO ALL!

Lucky Kids! No mother to yell at you, yay. Hope you feel better soon Shannon, you sounded much better yesterday.

We beat our record and boondocked for 12 days without taking on extra water, we showered every day (alone) and not having to dump. Today we went into a park, dumped, put fresh water and chemical in both the black and grey water tanks then went to town for fuel and propane. That was quite an experience. The vehicles were lined up at this fuel station for over a block as the prices are about 80 cents a gallon cheaper for gas and $1.85 a gallon cheaper for propane. They have people telling you what pump you'll use, when you'll use it and making sure no one cuts in front of you. It was a blast and the first time this year we've travelled in the motor home together. The park we're in now is one of our favorites and we'll stay the week then probably head out into the desert again. We really enjoyed our last 12 days.

Tomorrow we're climbing Pilot Knob with Ted and Cheryl and then they'll come back for supper, Friday we plan to go to San Luis Mexico with Pete and Roz and Saturday we are climbing to an airplane crash site. Last night we went to see the King's Speech, we really enjoyed it. We've been really busy this week and enjoying ourselves very much. The weather has been very windy, sandstorms that were bad enough that we had to bring in the slides last night after we got home. Here they have sand ploughs instead of snow ploughs. Won't be climbing tomorrow if it's still as windy but it sounds like it's settled down tonight.

Still no plans for the rest of the winter. We're all really enjoying it here right now, it's always nice when there's lots of people you know around. No one is committing to anything yet but once one of us decide to move on you can be sure everyone will disperse in different directions. None of us are ready to move on yet but that could happen in a moment's notice.

Denis really wants a hot breakfast so he signed us up for the big meal tomorrow morning. You can't cook it, and who wants to, for the price they charge, plus they supply all the dishes and cutlery so no dishes. Heck of a deal if you like a big breakfast. He loves to take me because he gets all my food too except for the toast. Wish that sacrifice showed on the scale.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weather as much as we are enjoying ours.

Love to all
