Computer Geek

Sterling is obsessed with anything to do with his computer. He's always got it running and can usually be found searching up something, customizing his desktop or watching YouTube videos. One of the things he loves is his USB stick. He uses it every day to complete projects, download stuff from school, etc. On Sunday he had the idea to take apart one of his 2GB USBs and a Hot Wheels car and embed the USB into the inside of it, being sure the wheels still spun. He and Craig spent some time working on it and VOILA! a Hot Wheels USB stick. Quite cool, if I do say so myself!

What a smart, smart kid!! Too cool!

Hope you're having warmer weather there. Once again it's -1, abit cloudy and abit of wind but otherwise that white stuff is starting to get closer to ground level.

Have a great day - love you lots - BIG HUGS TO ALL!

Geek isn't the right word, Mcivor would be closer to it. You must take after your Baba as he's always trying to invent or modify something. Right now he's out buying parts so that we can have our solar panel standing up. The sun is still quite low in the sky and we're not getting enough juice to the panel so our inverter has quit for lack of recharging. We still have a generator but the inverter is so awesome. We're probably the only ones out here with flat panels so hopefully that will change soon.

Went to Mexico this morning to get my teeth cleaned and a haircut. The best haircut I've ever had I'm sure. $30. for the cleaning, $8. for the cut. The salon didn't have running hot water so they heat the water in a coffee maker, put it in a big juice container, run cold water into the container until it reaches a comfortable temperature and wash your hair by pouring cups of water over it and then squeezing all the water out. Only took a container and a third to shampoo and condition. The Mexican people are true entrepreneurs. You ask for something and if they don't have it they will tell you who does and then go and get it for you. Los Algodonos is a wonderful border town. We had lunch at our favorite cantina and then headed home. We're less than 10 minutes from the border.

The weather is hot and dry so the air conditioned library is being enjoyed this afternoon. Tomorrow we're going jeeping with friends to Lake Martinez, stopping somewhere for lunch and going to a date farm somewhere in the middle of nowhere. They've made all the plans along with eight other couples so it should be a hoot. We're here in Yuma until the 9th for sure but our calendar is filling fast as more people show up so who knows how long we'll stay. Can't believe our winter is half over.

Love to all
