Thank You, Extended Warranty - we love you!

Monday morning Craig took the van in for some service. What started out as a 'stability light' going on and off ended up being the replacement of the steering shaft, the replacement of the trans axle seal, and a replacement of the p/s system. The van went in at 9:45am and at 5 when we were finally able to pick it up we still didn't know what would be covered by warranty. They are very cagey about telling you what is covered and what isn't. It ended up that we were only going to be charged for the diagnostic test but I think when the Service Tech saw our faces and knew he was in for a fight, he removed that charge and we got off with everything being covered. Craig was adamant, as was I, that everything should be covered under our extended warranty and we breathed a sigh of relief of not having a $700 bill at the end of the day.

The tech tells us that the light will probably still come on as they are not certain they got it corrected but we are happy with the work they did and will just have to hope this solved the problem.

WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL - nice way to start the New Year with good news. Good for you to have extended warranty. So many times, we wonder should we or shouldn't we. Hope everything works good from now on in.

Just got home awhile ago from my Line Dancing - it feels good to be back at it again and trying to get ambition up to start taking down some of my Christmas decorations. It's always sad for me to take it all down but it looks so tidy and clean after it's done. It may take me more than one day to do it.

Hope the boys had a good first day back at school and you both had a great day at work.

Love you lots - BIG HUGS TO ALL!

That's great!! We know how horrible car repair surprises are. We are so happy for you. We were just saying today that 2011 just seems to be on an upswing, as good things have happened. Let's hope it continues for the rest of the year.

The weather was beautiful today, just short sleeves. I had long pants on as we were going out for a two hour harbor cruise and thought it may be cool on the water but it wasn't. We sat out on the back deck with our picnic lunch and had a wonderful time. We saw dolphins and sea lions and many birds. We also got a running commentary on the Navy base in San Diego which was really interesting. The huge helicopters were flying all over the place and we could get an uninterrupted view of the airport. San Diego airport is right downtown and the planes come in below the tops of some of the buildings. Buildings here can't be more than 500 ft. because of that so it's pretty impressive to watch the planes land. I think it would be pretty stressful living on the 12th floor and looking out the window to see a plane without having to look up. We landed somewhere like that once and it was very scary for me so I can't imagine how the residents must feel. A super awesome day with the best weather we've had so far.

Love to all
