The End...

...of summer that is!

Zippy the grasshopper

Friendship bracelets I made that the boys and I wear

The house the kids made for their pet grasshoppers

The boys are out playing with the neighbors, Craig is finishing up dumping the pool and I am doing this and getting ready for work tonight. Pulling a 4-midnight tonight, so that is good.

School starts bright and early tomorrow morning (actually 5 minutes later than all the other years), and in all reality 9:15am is not that early.
A wonderful summer was had by all and we are looking forward to the next round of visitors. The boys are especially looking forward to getting an extra day off in September. Thanks, Amma and Baba! Check back tomorrow for first day of school pictures. I'll post last years first day pictures too so we can check out the difference. I know the lack of hair will be a big thing but the 20 lbs Sterling has gained this year is bound to show as well! The kid is a tank!

Hard to believe that the summer is gone already. We're hoping for nice weather for another month. Hope the boys have a fun year at school and those extra days off always help!

I think our grasshoppers all way bigger than the one shown in the photo. I hate them - they cling to you as they go hopping about. They also have been eating my petunias and geraniums. It's time they go away.

Hope your evening went well Shannon - nice to get in extra time with more pay. Who'll be the most excited to get up tomorrow morning to get everyone moving? Hope everything goes well.

We had a nice long weekend. Friday night was the first Bronco game, Saturday night Ed & Marion had us over for a BBQ supper and last night we went out to Joe & Lynn's for coffee to celebrate Joe's b'day a day ahead. Weather wasn't the greatest yesterday but Saturday was gorgeous and today was abit cooler but sun shining and abit of a breeze. A couple of times when we were working in the shed, the tree that cracked this August was really creaking loudly this afternoon. Hope it hangs together - I really hate to get rid of it.

Well, guess dishes aren't getting done by themselves - so I'll go get them done.

BIG HUGS TO ALL!

we had a grasshopper in the bathroom vent. We opened the vent, put the fan on and it flicked out between the blades. Don't know how it got up there.

Our reno is half done and looking spectacular. What a difference no carpet makes!! The little place looks way bigger.

Great weekend topped off by grandparenting from 9-4. The girls were wonderful, lots of fun and very well behaved. Avery loves to sleep on her stomach, which is a no-no these days. However, with the SIDS monitor and camera on I wasn't too concerned. She slept most of the morning and a good portion of the afternoon. She loved it. Both our girls slept on their stomach but I probably wouldn't do it today since they tell you that you shouldn't. The SIDS monitor is the greatest as far as I'm concerned. Emma was so good, I got voluntary hugs, which is a huge thing. She is so cheap with them and you usually have to beg for one.

Jessica, Ken and another couple, golfed Desert Blume. It was great that Jessica could go all 18. Agter 9, she rushed home, nursed for 10-15 minutes and then went back for the other 9. She had originally planned to meet up with them again on 12 which is just behind her house. I got to do the burping, suffer through the spit-up but was rewarded with a smile.

Can't wait for the next long weekend. Hope everyone had a great one. Spruce Meadows next weekend. That's one of our favorite venues.

Love to all

I agree that Sterling is a tank - but in a good way. I never really thought that I would see the day that "my little nephews" would make me worry on the tramp while I was trying to double bounce them. I think that I was the one getting double bounced most of the time!! I think the only thing that saved me was that Sterling is still ticklish and giggles a lot! Have a good school year guys and take it easy on your uncle next time you see him.
