Fish Racing

The Fun Fair was great - or so I have been told. The boys had a blast and we seem to have adopted a pair of goldfish. Apparently the boys took part in a "Goldfish Racing" game and having both won their heat they became the proud owners of some goldfish.
They brought them home and got them into a bowl and to be honest, I'll be shocked if they last the week. Do I need to mention that Craig was thrilled?
Sterling named his "Speedy" and Kaedo named his "SpeedRacer". Interestingly enough, "Speedy" was what Sterling named his first ever goldfish (when he was about 3).
So I have been put on alert that if I do nothing else today, I MUST pick up some fish food.
Just what I need - more mouths to feed!

Good luck with the goldfish - please don't ever ask us to look after them. We were asked to babysit Ed & Marion's fish (years ago) and they weren't gone very long but, they died and we felt so terrible. We said we would buy them new ones but they didn't let us.

Stan's taking in his first golf game this afternoon with Jim Barber. I'm not feeling up to snuff, so my plans for the afternoon are to curl up in a blanket and get some rest.

Hope you're all having a great day - BIG HUGS TO ALL!!

Sterling and Kaeden, what a great time you must have had....and then to win the races and get to keep the fish...it couldn't get any better. Take good care of them.

We are heading to Calgary to get ready for mom's birthday. I hope she doesn't have a heart attack when she sees her oldest friend in Canada there. She and Vera have been friends for 50 years, plus Vera lives in Vancouver now. Even if mom kind of expected something, she'd never expect to see her dear friend. There are 16 people coming from Cambrian Manor and Thorncliffe. We had to rent mini vans to get them all to the church hall as we couldn't get a vehicle big enough to collect everyone. Mom always wonders why none of these people ever visit her, but she's 50 minutes on the Deerfoot away and none of them drive farther than a few blocks from their homes (it's scary that they drive that far). There should be 50-60 people altogether, which considering the size of our little family, is pretty good. We've hired Irish dancers and the "Andrew Sisters" are going to be some of the entertainment. She didn't appreciate the male strip club we took her to for her 65th, so strippers we're out this time around, maybe for her 100th. All the food is bought so now we just have to put it all together and enjoy. The best part of the whole thing is that Mom can't believe she's lived to see 90. That's very old for our family.

Love to all
