Saturday Blues

The start of a 3 day weekend. Yuck. I hate the lack of routine, not knowing where to put myself. I think part of it is that I am so looking forward to seeing mom and dad on Thursday. It's always worse right before you get together.

The boys took another trip to the dollar store today. Sterling was so excited he could barely stand it. He just can't believe that we trust him enough to go. I did arm him with a Swiss Army knife and a cellphone. He proceeded to call us twice to talk about things he was looking at in the store. I have no idea where he gets his gift of gab. They got $15 from GG and it is quickly diminishing. Junk Junk and more Junk. Ah well - so much fun.

Not too much else to tell you. We have nothing going on again tomorrow. Maybe a walk or a bike ride or some scrapbooking.

Hope you have a good rest of the day.

Happy Canada Day Weekend. Great photo, is that you Craig????

Had a long day today. Got up early and made sandwiches with the crusts off. GG just loves those and she isn't too impressed by the fact they don't get sandwiches at her place. Made salmon and egg salad on WHITE bread. Made some for ourselves also, different colored bread. Bought a Black Forest Cake, leaving the remainder in her fridge of course. We had a really great time and Emma was her charming self. All by herself, she put her arms around GG when we were leaving and gave her a big kiss. We left around 4 pm and then went to Lethbridge to pick up Ken's dually, which was getting prepared for resale, then came back to the Hat. Ken was busy texting us about the 60 lbs of salmon fillets that he was bringing back. He got a trip to the Broken Islands as a thank you for a job well done. It sounds like he is having a wonderful time. We told him we weren't leaving until Monday so that we could take some fish with us. I'm sure he's thrilled about that.

It was hard to leave mom and she kept asking how long we'd be away. We told her we had to spend some time with our grandsons and with GG Lavigne, she understood that but still wanted a time frame. We know she would love to travel, she always did. She does her own travelling everyday in her power chair. I can't believe she finds her way home sometimes. Good for her, we're glad she has the confidence to travel her neighborhood....even if some wonderful stranger has to bring her home sometimes because she runs out of battery or memory. I hope I'm so brave at 88.

Can't wait to see you boys. The dollar store will only be attended with your grandparents in tow when you're with us. We've got your list of food and we'll need two motorhomes to carry it all in. We're hoping for a Costco en route so that we don't have to travel across the country with all those tonnes of food. Can't wait for Thursday.
