good morning

Hmmm, what to write about? Same old drivel I guess. Craig didn't get chosen for Jury Duty yesterday but has to go back on Wed. for his last try. They have to give three days then they are free. Today he has gone to Markham (just around the corner from my office) to present one of the projects he has been working hard on. He is getting used to this sleeping in. He doesn't get up until 7 - 7:30 now which is much better that 5:40. Back to the old grind Thursday.
Sterling had soccer last night. He was disappointed with his teams performance but was happy with his own. He had a killer assist, so that is good. He's a great player but I wonder if he is getting sick of it. This is his 5th year and 3rd year playing year round. He really wants to take up basketball, so I may steer him in that direction for the fall. He is also lucky because this year he will be able to tryout for the school teams.
Kaed had TKD last night. His buddy got another stripe! Yeah Backyardigan!
I worked - I know - shocking. Not too motivated right now, so that is why I m doing this.
Well, enough of the boring blabbing.
Hope everyone is well.
Talk soon,
Shannon

Hi Shan,

I am having trouble motivating myself as well. I am currently watching my garde 10's write their final exam. In fact one just had his cell phone go off - must go crack some heads!

Anyway, I am excited that Sterling might try basketball. I can understand how some kids might get burnt out by playing one sport all the time. It happens a lot in PA with volleyball, by the time they are done hgh school they want nothing to do with it. It does not promote love of sport. I think the multiple sport athlete benefits more in the long run. And anyway - Sterling could probably be good at every sport he tries and excel at all of them!

Thanks for writing the blog. Everytime we see a picture of the boys it is hard to beleive that they are getting so big - they must be towering over Petrica by now.

I am trying to start a blog as well, but I have a few questions especially about pictures. I may call you sometime or send you an e-mail.

Have fun this weekend at the birthday party. Kaeden's card, gift $, and pictures are in the mail. Congratulate him on his success in TKD. And if he competes in the tournament wish him luck.

Mom and Dad are coming up next week and we may be building a play structure for Jacob - wish us luck, going by some random plans no build by number!!

Have a great week - talk to you soon.

I thought Craig was doing ads, etc. for the bank not for the chicken gizzards group of potential billionaires. Go Craig!!!

I read Kelly's comments and totally agree that Sterling will be great at whatever he tries and that multiple sports activities are by far the way to go. He will decide at a later date what he prefers. Hopefully, that will be the one he's the best at. Now Jessica, (no comment please my darling) was wonderful at violin but she preferred piano. She was very good at piano but I thought she was brilliant with the violin, that's why she was concert mistress at 9 when the others were in their teens and 20's. Please do not comment publicly Jess. You can phone me and browbeat me privately.

We are so excited to spend our month with the boys. I know they're excited also, but not as much as we are. This year's plans are all made so now we have planned most of next summer's month of activities. That is a large part of the fun, the planning and finding out all the great things there are to do in all the different locations around this great country. I say that as we plan to head south of the border just because of the cheaper gas. I feel like a traitor.

We are in the process of lightening our load of required goods so that we can get better mileage. Needless to say, our required goods means Denis's tools. Do you guys really need 10 screwdrivers and 15 pairs of pliers? The welder and compressor are a definite no-no.

Denis was given TOTEM mugs today and we have to take photos in any bizarre place we happen to be so that it can be put in the TOTEM POLE magazine. I sure hope we don't have to write the article also. Denis only has one more day of work and then that's it until next year. I, on the other hand, have another 3 days, 18 hours in all, and I'll truly miss it. We both agree that it's been great, awesome, and something we'll definitely do again next year.

We won at card bingo tonight so we probably won't be asked back, that's ok, we're leaving anyway. We love the clubhouse activities and they are just starting up here, there are so many things to do at the clubhouses down south. I really admire the people who take the time and effort to organize things for other people's pleasure. It's a lot of work and sometimes very thankless.

Can you tell we're excited to get "on the road again".

Thanks for the blog Shannon, it's great.
