Bummed

While the weather is not cold, and there is no snow, it is drizzly and a bit rainy, so no cookout for us today. It sucks because we were all looking forward to it. Oh well, that's the way it goes.

Had a great day yesterday. Sterling had his last day of bowling, Craig had a great time at football, Kaedo had a friend over to work on a science project and then hang out and Sterling and I got to spend some time together.

The kids were so funny yesterday. Kaedo's friend Luc was here and man, that kid is hilarious. We were led to believe that he was quite reserved. NOT. He was hilarious. Man, Craig and I laughed our heads off. They got their great crane built for school (will get a picture and post it), and then went outside and rode bikes then Craig took the three of them on one of his world famous bike rides, down to the BMX track. They loved it. Until they were almost home and it started to pour with rain. The kids thought it was fun, so that's good. We had supper and then the three boys decided trampoling in the rain would be fun, so out they went and had a blast acting crazy and jumping in the rain. So fun. Love to see those kinds of things.

Watched a movie last night - not good - then Craig stayed up and watched Hockey and the boys and I stripped and made our bed then tucked in to watch Two and a Half Men. I think I only made through half of the first episode and I was out of it. Nothing better than clean properly tucked in sheets. Love it.

So, today finds us with Craig and a bit of a cold, Kaedo doing homework, Sterling watching cartoons, me doing this and a trip to Costco this afternoon.

Hope you are all well. Thought I would post some pictures from some of our previous days at Darlington Park, since we won't be making any memories there today.

Happy Sunday (did I really day that??)

What a handsome family! It sucks when you plan something and the weather decides you're not going to be able to do it. It's cold here, I can't believe it's almost May and we've had below 0C nights since Wednesday.

We leave here tomorrow and head for Medicine Hat. I hope we leave the cloudy weather behind but we'll probably bring it with us. It was a cleaning day today so now I don't have to dust and vacuum for another year. No matter how big the home, it's always a chore to clean it.

We've entertained and been entertained lots this week. Went to a dinner party last night where "authentic african" food was served. Our friends had just returned from an African Safari and put on a dinner for 10. Needless to say, we had never eaten any of the dishes served prior to last night. It was a great time.

It's always nice to come back to your home park and party with people you haven't seen since last year. Everyone has a great story to tell about their winter and everyone has something in common, the love of travel and adventure. We've all had great adventures and we all love the unplanned journey that our lives have taken since retirement. In our case, semi-retirement as Denis will be working in Medicine Hat and I hope to find something profitable to do also.

Love to all

Gee, I'm really behind commenting on the Blog. We were very busy yesterday - we left the house at 9:00 a.m. and went to Regier Honda to help them clean up their new place to get ready for their Grand Reopening. We got home around 4:00 p.m., got cleaned up and out for supper with the Klassen bunch - 14 all together. We went to Casey's for Chinese food. Then Robert & Barb and Stan & I went over to Gord & Sandra's for our Canasta evening. We had so much fun and even if us girls lost (with much cheating from the boys) we'll never give up! We got home around 1:30 a.m. and up this morning for church. We just got home awhile ago from a coffee/cake get together at the Care Centre for an early Mother's Day. Pete & Esther are leaving from Kiwait on Thursday and are gone for 6 weeks or more so she wanted us to celebrate Mother's Day early. Betty Anne & Gerry were down as well.

Looking at the picture of you all around the tree brings back memories of me trying to take that photo. We had such a wonderful day that day at the beach even though it was cool.

Sounds like you've had a wonderful weekend and a very busy one. Hope to catch you later.

BIG HUGS TO ALL!
