unhun i rock, unhum, i rock

Nice blog header, man! I have been trying to build one of those damn things for months. Finally Craig and I put our heads together and got it figured out!

Love this picture - have I posted it yet? The big burly cousins watching over their little buddy!

One week. Countdown. This time next Thursday I will have an unbearable stomach ache and will probably be doing my grocery shopping. 6 weeks, already. I can't believe it. It has gone remarkably fast. There have been slow, teary days, but overall it has been fine. Craig and I have been to the drive-in once, the movies twice and out to dinner once. Not too much, eh? People kept telling us that we would be out living it up. I don't think they realize that life goes on. We both work, are both tired at the end of the day, and have had a lot of plans for the house - which has severely crimped our entertainment budget! The house is looking great - if I do say so myself! We have more to do this weekend, and then, at least for now, we will be done. We replaced all the light fixtures last night - I really like them. It is so bright in the house, now. Between that and no curtains, the sun just shines in here. The no curtain thing is OK because we don't have a TV on our main floor so there are no people to look in on in the evening.

The boys's school supplies have been bought - except for the paint, and everything is laid out in their rooms. A couple of shirts, a couple of jeans, new backpacks and lunch bags. I love all that back to school shopping. So fresh and new for a new beginning.

The boys will be busy upon their return. Someone asked me if I had something fun planned for them when they got back. My reply was, "hell no - they've had that all summer". We won't arrive home on Thurs until after midnight and Sterling has to be up and to the football field for his pre-season weigh-in at 10:30 Friday morning. They have eye appts in the afternoon and are getting their hair cut on Saturday. Mom - you will be dying Kaedo's hair on Friday (please).

That's about it. Blah, Blah, Blah - boring, I know.

That sounds just like Sterling. That is a great photo, however, they torment her one minute and protect her the next. She gives as good as she gets and is a real trooper. She can also get in their way and they let her know it. She refused to kiss them goodbye when she left. They are cousins in the true sense of the word. They really care about one another and it shows.

Raining cats and dogs today so the bike excursion was cancelled and the indoor pool replaced it. The boys had a ball, playing with kids they'd met when they went on Tuesday. The rock tumbler had finished it's work after one month of turning and driving me insane...and they wonder why I'm deaf. The boys loved the finished product.

Dad had his tetanus shot. Little finger got crazy glued, middle finger got 4 stitches and the thumb got 6 stitches. He's still at it however, didn't slow down on the carving one little bit.

Can't believe there's only one week to go. It's kind of like Christmas dinner, you plan it for days and it's over in 20 minutes. We're so glad that we're going to Toronto, not only to see more of the boys but to see the both of you as well. Dad is really anxious to see grandma and will be spending part of every day with her. It's a wonderful walk from your place to her's, so hopefully some of the weight we've put on this month will come off.

We'll weigh Sterling on Saturday and then starve him for as many pounds as it takes. Maybe take him to a sauna for the day...joking. I hate the thought of kids having to worry about their weight. He's perfect but not nearly as fit as his little brother who rocked by pedalling an 8% grade for 1.3 km. Yes, he was pedalling uphill. He was the only one that did the whole hill without walking for a bit. Some..no names..walked most of it. It has been a marvellous three weeks.

Love to all
