Toe Jam

On Thursday Sterling went to see a surgeon to have his toe and toenail checked and a channel cut out of the middle of the nail to help with all the problems he has been having.

The disgusting toe thing is about 6 months old and he has seen his family doc twice and taken himself to the walk-in at least that many times. Finally the decision was made to have a surgeon take a look.

The doctor was Russian, and Sterling and Craig both thought he was hilarious, although his bedside manner was not exactly what they were used to. He threw out a lot of movie examples of how bad the surgery was going to be. I don't know if 'goulag' came up. Sterling was a little shocked that the doc yanked out the whole nail and I think the doc may have been a little surprised that Sterling asked to keep it. lol

I have a hilarious photo of Sterling smiling a maniacal smile but thought I would keep it in my 'I beg of you, please don't have a big wedding or I will be forced to use this' file.

So glad this was successful. You never complained about your toe the whole time we were there even though it looked so sore. Hope this cures the problem for good. When Baba had an elbow removed he wanted to keep it also. They put it in a sterile container but after about a month it started moving on its own so we had to get rid of it. Hope that doesn't happen with your nail, lol.

Hope your elections go the way you want. Good for you both for doing so much research on the candidates.

The weather has become much cooler today so we're saying goodbye to cloudy Alberta. Figured that Hallowe'en in Vegas would be an experience. One that we could probably miss but Dad wants to see Elvira. Freemont Street is always a freak show but it should be even freakier on the 31st. Here's hoping anyway.

Hope everyone has a great winter.

Love to all

Sterling, you were such a brave guy!! I'm glad we didn't talk to you till after you had the surgery - I couldn't stop thinking about you and hoping everything would go well. Hopefully you will no longer have any trouble at all with any of your toes!!!

I don't blame you for leaving Canada with the yukky weather we had yesterday Irene & Denis! Wishing you a wonderful time down south and have a fun Halloween in Las Vegas! Jim & Roberta, Chris and Amanda and Sydney are in Mexico and they are going to enjoy a Halloween there on a boat! Take care and enjoy your winter down south.

BIG HUGS TO ALL!
