New Years Eve

This is my 183rd post. Can you believe it? Who knew I had so much to say.
How is everyone? New Year's Eve - so what. We don't do anything special. It is just like every other day. The only thing about New Years is that I have to get my milk at Mac's.
Craig hasn't been well for the last couple of days and went to bed early last night - shocking for him. Today he seems to feel a little better and had the chance to get out and do some exchanges and license the car.
I've had enough of the holidays now. I need everyone to get out of my house and go on about their routines. I am going stir-crazy and our routine has been shot to hell. I am a routine girl. I like it when everyone goes to school/work, and everything is normal and quiet. I am sick of seeing my kids on the computer. Kaedo is obsessed with the computer and would spend 8 hours a day on it if given the option. I am continually asking them if they want to play a game but sometimes even that doesn't work. I kicked them out this afternoon and told them to go walk the dog. When they got back I told them not to come in the house and to find something to do. PLAY! They are with the Backyardigans right now. Who knows where, doing who knows what. Reminds me of the stories my mom tells about being kicked out of the house after breakfast and told not to come home until supper. I just had to get them out of the house. Kaedo was turning grey from lack of sunshine and the bleaching effects computer monitors have on your skin.

Ok - that's it. Happy New Year. Bah Humbug.

did you know?

I never get Craig a drink at meals. His responsibility.

I hate to wear socks.

Tomatoes make my hands itch and swell up.

If the CD ends on a book I'm listening to and I don't get around to changing it, I just keep listening to the same one over and over.

I usually write the same "to do" list over 3 or 4 times. Sometimes just so my penmanship is better.

I always smooth my hair down on my pillow when I go to bed, roll over or wake up in the night, in the hopes of avoiding bedhead.

Anyone else want to share some useless trivia?

Superstars, baby!

Sterling, the Master! Watch him in all his glory. Yes, that is the ball being thrown in the other lane. A kind old man returned it to him.

Kaedo, the Heely master. First day, already doing awesome. No grief about the helmet, OK? Apparently his hat is all the helmet he needs!

Christmas 2007

Hello All -
A day late but I figure you were all to busy to check the blog yesterday. Except maybe for my mom, who being the amazing woman she is, checks daily. Here are some photos from our Christmas. I apologize that they may be a little blurry. I had my NEW CAMERA on the wrong setting. Damn me! So, our day started early. Kaedo was up at 6:30am. He went to Craig's side and asked if it was Christmas yet. Craig said, "not for another hour" and Kaed went back to bed until 7 when they couldn't contain themselves any longer. They opened their Santa gifts, then I made Christmas breakfast. After the smoke alarm going off, and me getting mad a Craig for opening the back door (since we were probably the only idiots up at that time) and my timing being off, as usual, we sat down to eat by 8am. By 8:45 (I think) the breakfast had been cleaned up and we were on to presents. The boys opened one at a time, except for their Snowboard stuff, which they opened all together. They had a wonderful morning and were blessed with wonderful gifts from everyone. Thank you.
Once they got their presents done and we got cleaned up (read - wrapping paper folded and put in stacks for recycling and cardboard broken down - we are so granola), we continued on. We have a tradition here that the boys open all their presents, then Craig and I open our gift from them and then they go off to play and we open ours at a more leisurely pace. It doesn't work for everyone but we like it. After that we watched Shrek 3 - I slept in the chair as they watched - then just hung out until 3:15, and went to the movies - National Treasure. It was awesome! Perfect for kids. Perfect for adults. Non-stop thrill ride. Highly recommended! N & A would love it!
Came home after having Christmas dinner - fries and gravy for Kaedo and Craig, popcorn for Sterling and I. Hung out and got the kids to bed about 9pm. Sorry the photos aren't in order. It is backwards when you do it on the blog and I screwed up.

Puzzle from Amma and Baba for Snowboarding lessons

Kaedo with all his gifts (this one's for you, Shirley)
Sterling with his gifts (ditto above, Shirley)

Sterling rockin' the headband
Kaed too, ugh, rocking the headband
Movies that they received
Sterling's face when he saw the boards coming up. Kaedo in his own world, as usual.

Sterling's balls
Sterling's boobs, uh, balls
Kaedo's death traps, uh, heeleys

One of my fave pix of Sterling. He is gorgeous!
My beautiful boy and more dollys. He loves them!
Kaedo hugging Sterling for the Leafs hat he got him.
Sterling returning the favor for the art set he got.
Well, that's all. Am going to take some video of Sterling bowling tomorrow with my new CAMERA. It has wicked video. Got some of Kaedo heeleing (?) and I will get Craig to post them both, maybe tomorrow.
A Big Happy Birthday to JESSICA tomorrow. You don't look a day over 34!

Happy Christmas Eve!

Hello All -

Well, the time has come. All that anticipation for 15 minutes of fun. Remind you of anything else? The boys are beyond excited and we are happy to be spending the holidays just having fun and being together.

So much to tell you...

The advent calendar is finished. Finished off with $10 this morning. They were happy to get it and I was happy it was done. Ernie returned to the North Pole last night. He left us a note telling us that he had to get back to help Santa get ready for tonight's journey. The boys were disappointed but not as sad as last year.

We went out for breakfast this morning. Barnaby's. Great. While sitting at the table, the boys were bugging us about opening presents. Sterling had this tooth that had been dangling by a thread for weeks and he kept pushing it forward just to creep us out. Craig made him a deal that if he yanked that tooth he could open his Christmas Eve presents on Christmas Eve morning instead of night. Out came the tooth! So, we headed home and did that. We played a really good game called RUK SHUK and then hung out. I made sugar cookies - which sucked, and we watched a movie, Annie. Awesome. Funny how you remember all the words to the songs after so many years.

Did I mention I got a NEW CAMERA!!!!! It KICKS! Craig gave it to me this morning. He handed it to me and said that it was a gag gift that he thought was funny so he wanted to give it to me. Out came an awesome SONY DSC-H7. It is fantastic. I am still getting used to it. The pix are from that camera. Well, that's it for now. Merry Christmas everyone. Be happy and safe.

On the 20 and 21 and 22 day of advent... and other stuff

Hello All - Happy Saturday!
Sorry about the postings. I have been a little blogged out. As for Craigmas, we had a very good day even though Craig makes it sound like we forgot!
OK - onto everything else.
Advent calendar is still doing good. 20 - sleep together, 21 - chocolate for breakfast, 22 - game night. Glad to be almost done. Only a couple more days.
Ernie has been busy. Thursday night he took all the kids unders and threw them all over the place. He was even wearing a pair. Last night he made a mess of the basement, tossing the movies and dumping the cushions and laundry. What a mess.

Craig's tattoo - what do you think? Even if you don't like tattoos, you have to admit is is gorgeous. Mine is very cool too but I haven't taken a picture of it yet. We both agreed that we do have a pain threshold. And it is before the tattoo is done. Mine took 2 hours 10 minutes, and Craig's took 2:45. I was at the breaking point at about 1 1/2 hours, Craig about 2 hours. Insanity!

Went Secret Santa shopping today. So fun. We draw names and set a limit ($3) and then buy something we think the other will like and then open them on Christmas Eve. I think I did really well for Craig. It is fun finding something(s) that are fun and not junk. The other cool part is that everyone pays for their own.
Sterling bowled this morning. He sucked his first two games and then totally kicked it in the 3rd. He got 118. He rocks, man. I think he is very anxious for Christmas so his head wasn't in the game. He got one of those rubber bracelets from a friend there and it says Bowlers Rock and it is glow in the dark. Very cool.
We are heading out to the movies and to pick up some Baileys then games and to see the lights tonight.
Hope you are all well, GG is coming for dinner tomorrow afternoon and will be losing dollars to Kaedo as he kicks her ass in Skip-Bo.
talk later,

Merry Craigmas

Merry Craigmas to me, merry Craigmas to me... , Shannon didn't want to post tonight because she said nothing really happened today. Translation, the kids didn't remember Ernie and they forgot about the Advent calendar. Ernie drew a sad face with his beads and the calendar will have to wait until tomorrow. I guess when she said nothing happened today, she forgot about Craigmas. I wanted to take this chance then to thank everyone for the wonderful presents I received. I love them all.

Kids almost forgot Ernie tonight again since we got home late from eating. I told Shannon to remind them even though she thinks Ernie should just go home since no one loves him enough to feed him. I think if he did go home the kids would be devastated so I told her that I would deal with the consequences if she would remind them to feed him.

Don't worry, Shannon will probably be back to blogging tomorrow.

Good night everyone.

Craig
